... accompanied by MULTIPLE false awakens. Is it normal to have false awakenings with lucid dreams??
Heres what happened:
So I've always had an interest in lucid dreaming and have always wanted to do it. Up until now i had never really tried or been successful with it, but randomly last night i realized i was dreaming. I was dreaming about something (I cant remember) and i woke up in my room (or what I thought was my room) and realized things were strange. I shrugged it off and continued outside were i saw my friend get shot at and then he shot back at some figure that ran away. At this point i realized i was dreaming and got very excited about the fact i was finally lucid dreaming. Things started to fade and i felt myself waking up but i was able to concentrate and things slowly began to re appear. Anyway during the dream i tried many things such as flying and running fast (some which worked some that didn't). I then remember becoming un-lucid and yelling at my friend or something before realizing i was dreaming again. I lost my concentration and "woke up" in my room again. Again this was a false awakening and i didn't realize it and was telling my room mate i had a lucid dream and asked if i was talking in my sleep at all. Then i realized i was still dreaming and awoke again this time in my room with my room mate sleeping on my couch. So I woke him up and again repeated my lucid dreaming experience just to find out that this AGAIN was another dream. I finally woke up in the morning to my cat scratching at my feet. this time i was really awake.
Now my question is I have never had a lucid dream before this and have had false awakenings very few times in my life. Is it necessary to have false awakenings in order to realize you are dreaming and is it normal to have multiple ones. It seems for me that the only way i can realize I'm dreaming is if i have a false awakening.
