      Lucid dreaming? I'm not sure

Hello, I have a problem and I need help solving it, that's why I registered on this website.

The problem isn't that complicated, I've tried to ask my family members and my friend but most of the are unaware of what lucid dreaming is.

My first lucid dreaming experience was yesterday, or I think so, and I'm completely shocked. For just a brief moment (6 hours) which felt like 30 minutes I was God. I could control everything and anything and I was completely aware that I was dreaming.

I strongly believe that this was LD, but I'm not sure.

The thing is that I don't remember nothing except the 'important' parts of the dream. I remember that I could control a fountain and I made my face appear in the sky. But when I woke up I had completely forgotten everything that I had dreamt, and later when in the shower, I remembered everything. Well that's say the 'important' bits.

So the question is, did I lucid dream?

I have read some background information about LD before the dream and now I'm continuing to read some more.

So some of the things I've read checks out.

I was first unaware that I was dreaming, but then I started walking up the stair on the house I was in. I looked in the mirror or saw something strange in a clock (honestly I don't know), and almost instantly I knew that I was dreaming. Then I realized that I could control the world I was in and remembered that I had read something about this.

Sounds like you had a great first lucid experience. You are just as prone to forget lucid dreams as you are regular dreams. They tend to be more memorable due to the extraordinary content.

Welcome to the site. Read around and I'm sure you will find a lot of synergies with what you experienced and what others are describing.

Now that you have experienced the feeling of lucid, it should be easier to get back there. Especially while the memory is fresh in your mind.

      Thanks for the answer.

I've read around a little bit and started thinking about summoning.

When I made those fountains stop and unstop and made a my face summon on the sky, I used words. People on these forums say that you need an object or to close your eyes. Is it different for everywhere or is it almost the same.

I just said "show my face in the sky" and it appeared there. Almost instantly

Its different for everyone. Everything you can do in a dream is based on your expectations. If you believe you can do something, you can do it. People write up techniques and tutorials as suggestions and examples of what has worked for them, but it always comes down to your confidence and belief.

There are not really any hard and fast rules to how the dream world works. You sort of create your own as you go along. Keep that in mind, however, as you read through other people's experiences. Sometimes, you will hear someone say it is impossible to do something in a dream. If you believe them, you will be limited by that belief.
