New to Forums - Moral Dillema

      Hello.

I'm new to the forums and I would like to start by sharing a moral dillema I had in a dream.

I have had lucid dreams from time to time, but this particular situation has only come up once:

I was having a conversation with a young woman; she was distraught about something. To set her at ease I told her "No, you are not just part of a dream."

Later, when I woke, I felt ashamed for having said so.

Was it wrong to have told her that?
Has anyone else had discussions about dreams with people in their dreams?

      Thanks for your time,
      -Rr

Yes, I frequently tell my dream characters this in my lucid dreams. I see nothing wrong with saying this, as you are hurting no feelings because dream characters are basically just figments of your imagination.

      And welcome to DV!

Ha, wow I never thought about this before....
To help to you, I'm pretty sure deep down they know It's a dream. They simply respond to you. Think of them as actors if you have too.

interesting.... i lucid dream quite alot... and have been for 8 years... i know where your coming from.... i think that when your dreaming you still have morrals and feelings (however reicently mine are greatly warped!)... if you were to talk badly to someone in real life you would feel bad, so maybe its just that.....

on the other hand dreams reflect your current life... e.g. dream analysis.... so maybe you hit a cord there!?

or the alternative... sometimes dreams just mean more than others, they just do!!!!!!
