The Dream that Lead Me Here.

Hello, I am very happy to have found this site! I have deams that I feel may be crazier than the average person's, and quite a few of them end up being lucid without me even trying, so I am very interested to be a member of this site and try to hone my skill of lucid dreaming.

Today when taking a nap (my dreams are almost always more vivid and outrageous when taking a nap in the middle of day rather than sleeping at night) I had what may have been the best lucid dream I have ever had. Usually when I realize I am dreaming, I get excited and it wakes me up within seconds of realizing it, but somehow today I was able to hold it together and continue dreaming and it was absolutely amazing. I was in a hotel, somewhere tropic I believe with my sister, and while in the lobby waiting for the elevator I suddenly realized I was dreaming. Nothing strange happened, I just suddenly remembered that I was taking a nap and that I was not actually on vacation. I turned to my sister and told her I had realized I was dreaming and she got excited to. I began looking around the room and realized it was decorated quite extravagantly and uniquely and told my sister how amazing it was that I created it all within my head. Then I told her we should begin levatating simply because we could. And we could! She was very excited as well.

Possibly the strangest part was when I woke up from the dream. I felt myself waking up, and struggled not to, but was unable to keep myself from waking. The thing is... I was actually still dreaming but didn't know it. I dreamed that I woke up!

It goes on, but I will stop here because this is getting ridiculously long and I should probably move to the dream journal section. The point to this is that this dream was so vivid I have been thinking about it all day, and it lead me to search for "dreaming about dreaming" in google and this site came up. Hope this is as interesting to someone else as it is to me!

It's interesting to me! What you had is called a False Awakening (FA) and is quite common. These can catch out even the most experienced lucid dreamer! The solution is to do a RC (reality check) every time you wake up.

Your history is similar to mine. I too had natural lucid dreams that were such fun I google it to find out if there was a way to have them more often. This site is brilliant. Have fun!

      Congrats on the lucid
Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.
