      I need some help!!

About a week ago, I started my dream journal. Every night, I would remember a vivid dream and record it.

Two nights ago, I remembered 3 vivid dreams. I got very excited, because the more dreams you remember, the better you are at achieving lucidity, right?
Well last night, I didn't remember a thing. Is there a problem?

Also, is it hard to become lucid if you can't remember to RC and to recognize dream signs??

When should I start realizing my dream signs?

      thanks

Hey, RGB, welcome to Dream Views.

If you've got a dream journal started, and you're remembering vivid dreams, you're on the right track. Its important not to get discouraged. Having poor recall every now and then is normal. Read around the site, especially in the Dream Journal section. You'll see that even people who have been doing this for years have off nights or dry spells.

The important thing is to keep at it and be patient. Enjoy the vivid dreams when you do have them.

Keep trying to remember to RC during the day. This helps to build your prospective memory, which is very closely related to lucid dreaming in many ways. Maybe give yourself a goal like, "Every time I hear music today, I will RC," or "Every time I walk through a doorway".

YES! that is very important to keep in mind.
You will find you have a week of great recall, and after a while of perseverence you might have a few lucid dreams in 1 week. Then all of the sudden, you may not even remember a dream for a few days, a whole week even. This is very normal, and you just have to keep at it. It happens to everyone. But glad to have you on the forum, and enjoy your stay here. Lucid dreaming is amazing once you get into it and see for yourself. It can't be described in words how amazing it actually is.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. I'm waiting for my first lucid dream anxiously, and then I will know my "Lucid Potential."

Another question. How long did you find you had to train before you could become lucid easily? (Like several times a week.)

For myself, I have been "training" since October and have only had a handful of Lucid Dreams. I would not say I can easily lucid dream at this point, but with work I can have at least 1 a week. Best Advice for a Beginner is to keep a DJ and strengthen your recall and make a habbit of reality checking, and see what that does for you after a few weeks.

Hello and welcome to Dream Views.

It took me a couple of months before I kind of got the hang of intentionally lucid dreaming.

If you can find the right conditions for you lucid dreaming will become much easier.

For instance, I can lucid dream relatively easily if I'm good and tired, it's quiet and I'm alone in the house. Rarely do those three things ever happen at the same time for me though. If they did I think I'd be lucid dreaming a heck of a lot more than I have been.

There's no problem, you're doing everything the way you should.
