Trouble Knowing if im lucid Dreaming

Hey im new first off .
I remember about 3+ dreams a week, and for a few months I've tried to induce lucid dreams. A lot of the time since I was about 9-10 in the dreams I've had and remembered, I've known I was dreaming but not been able to do anything about it. So I thought lucid dreaming would be a doddle. Now when I know im dreaming I try and do something cool, but it does'nt feel real, I feels like im dreaming about being lucid and that I dont have full control. Can anyone help me? Because I can tell that im dreaming but I cant do anything

ps: I may actually have done one thing in a lucid, dream I really focused in my dream to remove someone who was, chasing me. Then subsequently removed everyone who was around me in the dream, causing me to wake. But it still does'nt feel real, and the memory isn't vivid.

I would recommend some "soaring practise" ..

Run down a hill, and think happy thoughts. :p (Just kidding.)

      Intend!
I know who I am, as I become...

      Hi dreamer21...

Sounds like you're already having lucid dreams if you're aware that you're dreaming. That's technically all that "lucid dreaming" means. However, it's true that you can have degrees of lucidity/awareness, meaning that sometimes the dream will maintain a very dreamlike quality even though you're aware of the dream. I've had lucid dreams where I've had brief moments of very clear, conscious awareness and others where, while I know I'm dreaming, I simply go with the flow and end up falling out of lucidity. The key is to stabilize things, which from my limited experience has been difficult.

Control is a whole separate issue. There's a lot of info here about how to stabilize your dreams and gain control, so look around and keep asking questions.

      Welcome to Dream Views dreamer21!

It sounds like you already have some talent with Lucidity. I'm going to suggest That you try working on your recall first thing. Try working on getting like two to three dreams a night. Maybe with a little practice, your recall will get more clear and vivid. And that alone may help you out with a higher level of Lucidity.

Have you started recording your dreams? If not, it's a good idea. That's probably the most important thing when it comes to gaining better recall. Just making your dreams important enough to write down can do wonders.
