I read an article not long ago about how Western society in general puts very little importance on dreams, but I suspect that might be true of almost any industrialized society. Self-discovery is not conduscive to the "rat-race" and materialistic values that go along with it. It's really sad, too, because I attribute my relative non-interest in drugs and alcohol to my vivid dream life.

I still haven't been able to freely fly in a true lucid dream, I always end up "falling" to the ceiling and freaking out. Still fun, though, as its the closest I've ever come to feeling real weightlessness.
