      My 1st LD!

Yes, it's another one of those 'first LD' topics, but...

After doing WBTB (being awake from 4:30 to 5:00 am), I went back to bed. 15 mins later, I still couldn't sleep and decided I needed to use the bathroom, so I did. I went back to bed again, and the next thing I knew, I was standing outside home, ready to catch a school bus to school in the morning. Except that it wasn't home, it was some other place, but I didn't notice that at the time. A few minutes later, I was on the school bus. When I was trying to use my MP3 player, I noticed it had become longer, with several unnecessary extra lines of text below the song name. I recognized that as a dream sign and at that point I noticed I was dreaming. However, it only lasted 10-15 seconds before I woke up and all that happened during the period I was lucid was the bus continuing to travel. I tried spinning to prolong the LD, but it didn't work. It was 5:37 am when I woke up, and since then I couldn't fall back to sleep again.

Although it was very short, I'm happy that I finally got my first LD after around 1 month trying to get one. So far, I've focused on trying to get one in the first place, but I haven't focused so much on how I could sustain one. I tried spinning, but could it be that I wasn't spinning properly? Also, last time when I posted, I mentioned concern about sleep paralysis. However, I don't think I experienced it either before the dream or after waking from it.

Awesome first LD, very strong lucidity.

      Congratulations!

Congratulations on the lucid. Even a short lucid is reason to celebrate

Whatever you did, try it again to see if you can get more. The first is the hardest, now you just need to keep it up.
