      I'm lucky!

Hi, I'm new here, and I've seen several mentions of people "waiting for lucidity." I consider myself lucky because my first LD was when I was six. I remember it somewhat clearly:

I remember as soon as I started dreaming I woke up (in the dream) in my room. The first seeds of lucidity started when I noticed that my bedroom window, instead of having a view of a construction site, had a panorama of a huge set of tire ruts and a jungle. For some reason, the female main character from Pokemon Ruby was there. I'm not sure when I became lucid. It might have been when the Oriental Express crashed through the ceiling or when the slice of pie screamed when I ate it...but anyway I ordered the train out, and it somehow drove away into the sunset. Unfortunately, my alarm clock woke me up for real. Huh. Funny how a freaking passenger train through the roof didn't wake me up, but a buzzer did.

Hi folks I've had lucid dreams on and off for as long as I can remember, but I've only recently started attempting to have them consciously. After failing with MILD and WILD, I tried WBTB this morning after waking up earlier than intended, and it worked! The only problem was it was really, really short because I could swear that I could hear something going on in my bedroom outside of the dream, so I opened my eyes and that was that Of course, there was nothing happening in the room so I woke up for nothing Oh well. I shall succeed next time

First off let me say that I've had many dreams where I became concious that I was dreaming, but I wouldn't call those lucid dreams beacause as soon as I became lucid, I would wake up shortly after, so for that reason i don't consider them lucid dreams. But that was not the case in this dream.

I fell asleep at about 10pm, woke up at 2am and was not able to go back to sleep so easily after. Stayed up till 9am, went to bed, and it started from there...

NOTE: I was very still at this point.
I went to bed thinking about lucid dreaming and trying to focus on recoginzing dream signs, remembering rc's and whatnot. About 20 minutes into it (laying down), I think i felt the effects of SP(would someone enlighten me). My body started twiching and pulsing in various places, and then i remember my body feeling like it was jelly-like and i was wavnig around like an ocean current (it was very creepy)

I was pretty anxious to hurry up and fall asleep, but soon after all the anxiety i fell asleep with no noticable trasition from my dream to being in bed. (Last time i saw the time, 8:35) The next thing I know, I am laying down in a catatonic state on the floor in my old middle school, with a black guy and woman standing over me. He tells the girl "Hold on", kneels down to me, and pries my eyes open with his thumb and index fingers. It was at this point i knew i was dreaming cause i remember thinking "WTF, i just went to bed 5 minutes ago". I got up, pushed him off me. No need for reality check. I instantly knew I was dreaming. He tries to grab me and i tell him not to touch me anymore (in a jerkish way). He's like "what do we do?", and at this I tell him to "clock out" to get him off my back.

It was very surreal at this point. Fully concious, and free to do what i please. I started running around the school, man handling all the girls in my way like an episode of "Supermarket Sweep". I remember thinking "ok, i want Erika (girl i used to know) to be around the corner, but when i went around she wasnt there. I thought "Hey what the hell, she should've magically appeared somehow right?. Whatever, no time to waste here.

Im still running around and to be honest the only thing on mind is all the girls in my dream. PHEW!! Im not a pervert or anything, but this is my only chance to willingly score with the literally woman of my dreams (whoever i chose that to be). I remember running into some wide open place in the school, and the vividness of the dream was starting to fade. So I did what I've read here to do and started spinning around (a couple of turns). After that, the school turned into this gospel church of some kind, still the same people, situation, just different enviroment. I'm still running around trying to gather all the girls and I saw my sister there. She was trying to talk to me, trying to tell me something but I just blew her off like "Ya,ya,ya whatever, got a big sex orgy I've gotta go to." Right where the confession booth should've been was a nice little spa and sure enough all the girls were coming my way into the spa (i was standing at the door, inviting them of course). And then... I woke up. F%@KEN S*$T!!! (looked at clock 8:42, the dream lasted 7 minutes)

oh well better luck next time. I must say though the vividness of the dream was not that great. Also during, it was like i could feel my physical body in bed but still felt my dream body's physical stimuli. Was kinda annoying. So for vividness, i will eat more foods with vitamin B6 (bananas, oranges, carrots, liver, eggs, nuts, healthy stuff.), and will try to go throughout the same process from now on for when i go to bed.

Also i must say that the dream spinning thing did not increase my lucidity or vividness at all. Only usefel for changing the enviroment and scenery

I DID IT! I HAD MY FIRST WILD! ON ACCIDENT TOO! i remember thinking about my girlfriend and some arcade game and i had a quarter in my mouth and i spit it out and my friend started laughing then i got these weird shakes and vibrations, it was very quick and vivid....it was also, very, well...erotic feeling!

this is what i jotted down on text pad so i wouldnt forget the details when i woke up. it was a very short, fast pased dream without much meaning.

"i was thinking about jamie and sarah and spitting quarters i got shakes and then i was shaking around on the ground like crazy with no order and then i got up and started going down the hall and i tried to walk but i felt like a pile of glue but then i flew and was screaming "INCREASE LUCIDITY!" and then i kept on flying and i landed and i was really lucid and i was in a materials-crowded office with busy sounding voices in the background that almost reminds me of the guidance office (at school) and i was trying to take complete control of my dreams by imaging things...but it didnt work then i woke up."

but my god that was the most incredible feeling ever! i want to do it again!

it was very sensual for some reason. the shakes were scary and unpleasant at first i was probably going into sleep paralasys but then i let go and it just became very pleasant and pleasureful.

edit: i just remembered, my voice sounded like Jerry Seinfeld's.

but im not sure what made last night different...i was listening to a youtube video of a soul journey or something weird like that having to do with astral spirituality and i was trying to start doing OBEs with the spirit guide in the video and it sorta worked but not really so i gave up and i started to go to sleep and i suddenly got these shakes....and i realized what was happening...but like, my whole body was shaking uncontrollably for maybe 20 seconds in the dream, like rolling on the floor having my libs move in impossible positions without me doing anything...what was all this about? is this normal for WILD? does anybody have any idea as to what may have helped along my WILD?

by the way...sorry about sounding so weird in that last post, i was overtired/excited at the same time. an interesting mix.

      LD

I've determined that I've had at least a few LDs in the past, I just wasn't enlightened as to what they were until a friend introduced this to me recently.

      Really, most of my LDing comes if I sleep during the day, y'know, to pass time or if I had a late shift or a night-shift... I guess it's a combination of a more necessary, deeper sleep and a sense of escapism. I can remember one distinctly, because it was only a week and a half ago;

I was walking in a forest, not far from my house, when I started being chased by a wolf. Normally, fear would've kicked in, but I stopped myself, and went to go pet the wolf. (This is the point where I became lucid... a reality-check confirmed this; it went from 4:33 to 5:45 and then 3:22 =S).
Anyways, it turned out the wolf was hungry and lonely, so I shared some food with him and we chatted. He just wanted to learn how to dance. Go figure. I remember telling him I wasn't a good dancer, and he just kind of woofed at me, and then I woke up.

It was very odd. But just being able to control that conversation with the wolf, going against my fears, etc... it was thrilling. When I woke up, it was only 1:30 in the afternoon, too. Who knows?

I hope I have another one soon, just to reaffirm. I haven't been sleeping well lately, exam stress =(

Congrats to everyone for first LDs, too =D

      Talking

First off, my friends and I were up till 4 AM watching movies and stuff, and then I finally got some sleep on the couch. At 8 AM, I was awakened by my buzzing cell phone, and I decided to drive home--I wanted to pass out in my own bed. I drank a Mountain Dew on the way there, and I'm wondering if any of the caffeine or vitamin B might have helped me out. I hopped into bed and promptly fell asleep. And then I "woke up". My blanket felt a little different, so I looked at my cell phone and it looked odd...like a much cooler model of my actual phone, with some pretty sweet features. So I figured I was dreaming. What was weird was that I didn't wake up when I found out I was asleep--usually I wake up when I realize I'm dreaming, because I'm worried about being late for class. Instead, I got up out of my bed and started working my legs. I started walking, actually walking, which is weird for me in dreams--I'm usually floating or swimming. Then, I left my house and went for a jog down the street. Then I started feeling my blankets wrapping me at the same time, and then I woke up. I was disappointed that i didn't get to do more in my first LD. So then I started looking on the web and I found this great website.

First Lucid Dream After Two Years of Trying!

Hey all, I just finally have had my first lucid dream after two years of intermittently reading about lucid dreaming and I am thrilled. Actually, I've had two. The first one was very brief though, because as soon as I gained lucidity, I got very excited and woke. But the next night (last night), I had a LD, and it was great. Here's a description:

Woke up around 4 AM, and as I was going back to sleep, I kept saying “I will be aware I’m dreaming.” Finally I fell asleep around 5:30, and I began to dream that I was driving some black car all around, delivering something or trying to find something. I do not remember specifically what I was doing, but I was in a rush. It was also raining heavily. It was very surreal. Then all of a sudden, I had the thought, “I am dreaming!” I got very excited, and in the dream I remember laughing aggressively upon realizing this. Then I looked at my hands which were distorted, to confirm that I was in fact dreaming. Next I looked in a mirror and my face was terribly distorted also. This is because before I went to bed, I read about how your own body can look very very distorted during lucid dreams. Remaining lucid, my vision was beginning to fade so I tried to remain calm and I tried the spinning technique. It was very odd – I was vaguely aware that I was lying in bed, but when I would spin, it felt as if I was rushing out of my own body. The colors would blur. I also kept rubbing my hands together, as I’d read that this helps. It was so strange because I could feel my physical body, but when I used my dream body I really felt like I was leaving my physical body. I was not able to get into another dream though…I just kept spinning and laughing. Then I had the thought – “It’s too bad I have to get up for work soon.” And immediately after thinking that, my alarm sounded and I woke up. But I am very excited that I’ve had lucid dreams two nights in a row…hopefully another will follow tonight!

Two questions: Once I gain lucidity, it seems like I become aware of my physical body lying in bed. I didn't wake up, but I could sort of feel my body in bed, and spin out of it at the same time...I guess this was sleep paralysis...How do I get past being able to feel my physical body? My mind is saying, "You are dreaming, so you are lying in bed right now," and no matter how hard I try, I can't get myself to re-enter an actual dream, I just spin and rub my hands together. Any tips?

Also, do lucid dreams occur more frequently once you have your first one? Since I've had one now, do you think that I will find myself having them more and more often now?

      THANKS A LOT!
