      Is this considered lucid dreaming?

When I was little, I would have nightmares quite often. Occasionally when I had nightmares, I would think to myself, "This can't be real, this must be a dream. Wake up wake up." And sometimes I would be able to wake myself up this way, sometimes I wouldn't. I don't think I actually knew I was in a dream though. I think I might have just acted as characters you see in scary shows, where people say "This can't be real, I must be dreaming". Do you think what I experienced was lucid dreaming?

If you knew you were actually dreaming while dreaming, then yes it was lucid dreaming.

I love your sig, by the way.

Thanks for the insight. Hmm yeah I don't think I really thought I was dreaming, I just was so scared I hoped I was dreaming so I pretended as if I was. And thanks, I drew my sig myself.

Yeah, you have to convince yourself you are dreaming. So try that next time.

      Heya Kid!

Don't worry, this kind of stuff happaned to me alot when I was younger, and that's sometimes how I used to have Lucid Dreams leaving me curious for years, untill last year when I stumbled upon this site this website and lovely community.

Yes, if you know you are dreaming when in a dream, you are Lucid Dreaming. It doesn't matter how you know you're dreaming, but just knowing the fact is defined as Lucidity.

Hope this has helped you out mate, and welcome to the community. Hope you have an awesome time here, and as Xox said, you're signature's very lovable.

Thanks for the help and welcome.

On an unrelated note, do you guys know of any programs or websites that are great for keeping dream journals and sleep logs?
