      Talking Introduction

      Hey all.
I thought it would be fitting to formally introduce myself to the community and stop lurking.
I'm 24, male. Located in VA, USA. I'm relatively new to LDs, although I have willed myself to have 2 through reality checking. Right now I am working on my dream recall and want to develop that much more before I try for any more LD's.
In a few instances, I have become conscious but it felt like I was "dreaming" about having a "lucid dream." If anyone cares, I read a couple of posts related to this and I think my main problem was automatically trying to control the dream once I gained lucidity. So, when I do want to start trying for LD's I'm going to work on simply exploring the dream environment for awhile before attempting control.
Anyhow, outside of dreaming I work in theatre -- mostly as an actor/director/playwright and love discussing that as well as music, film, and any other art forms.
In addition to being an aspiring oneironaut, I am also a psychonaut and love discussing explorations of the varying "levels" of consciousness whether that be through dreams, yoga, meditation, ritualistic drumming, psychedelics, and any other ways that others may have tried, although those are the ones I have personally experimented with and with which I am most familiar.
Jeez, that's a lot more than I planned on writing. Anyhow, I'm super excited about finding this forum and can't wait to develop the skill of lucid dreaming further. Im also planning to post my dreams in the online dream journal as well.

      Peace!

Yo! Welcome to the community, keep a Dream Journal, do plenty of Reality Checks, drink Milk! They're some of the things that help you gain lucidity, ordered randomly.

Yeah, it's a good thing you decided to come here for lucid discussion! We're the best!

      Hope to see you around!

Welcome to Dream Views! Sounds to me like you have a good plan going.

Good idea to do some Lucid exploring and get the feel for your dreams before trying out other things. The exploration aspect Of LD,ing is one of my favorite things about it. I love being surprised by what's over the next hill, or around the next corner.

Good luck, and let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
