Death in Dream

Hi everyone. New here but was interested in any opinions on a dream i have had in which i viewed the action involving me aware it was a dream as me the viewer but not as me the participant,, if that makes sense! I am 45 and have a 15 year old daughter. Recently she had an argument with a girl in her class and i was picking her up and run into her mother as well. A fearsome woman who scarred the hell out of me. I'm not one for confrontation at all and there we stood, her with stocky short cropped hair and me thinnish with long hair down to my waist trying not to look to scarred!! Anyway that wasn't the dream, the dream followed that night and in this we confronted each other at the school gates. I was watching myself and aware of the dream but the action was all too real as she brutalized me before crushing my body in her arms. She then carried my dead lifeless body across the playground as i hung in her strong arms and presented me like some trophy to my own daughter who then took me in her arms and carried me home as i now hung in her arms, my hair falling down, blood coming from my mouth. I watched myself hanging there dissapering into the distance and as my daughter turned the corner i opened my eyes and was awake! Any thoughts??

Hi and welcome to DV! Although I haven't had such a dream before, I've heard people talking about dreams which they experience in 3rd person and only have the role of an observer. Some claim that this is the only type of dreams they have and ask for help to get 1st person LDs. I don't think it means anything special though, if this doesn't happen often then it's just one of many random things that happen in dreams. The theme seems to be a collection of thoughts and feelings you gathered douring the day. I guess they just realised themselves in the dream, even if it went a bit too far. But I can't say that such dreams are unusual.

Welcome to Dream Views, Flighty. I have a lot of dreams in the third person. I sometimes try to induce those dreams, because they can have such fun storylines. I think you're on the right track with how you are viewing the dream. The woman you confronted obviously shook you up pretty bad. In the dream, it seemed like she only crushed you to impress her daughter. Like she was just a thug employed by her own daughter. Seems a little upsetting that the parent is being manipulated by the child to such a degree. It probably doesn't mean anything except that you were scared. I suggest not thinking about it, because it was probably on your mind, and was created in your dream.

Thnaks for the thoughts. I did post in the interpretation as well to see if i got a response. The dream has recourred last night however and this time it was not the mother who killed me but her daughter, an equally fearsome charecter. This time i was punched in the stomach and collapsed to my knees, me head on the floor. She wanted to humiliate me in front of my own daughter and forced my to grovel and plead for mercy, then she grabbed my hair, yanked my head back and slit my throat. She then carried my lifeless body around to show me off . The dream itself does not worry me, but i am wondering why i am being killed.

Do you have any guilt about the incident? Maybe you are beating yourself up, or blaming yourself for the way it turned out?

Em , Interesting thought. The only guilt i guess would be that i am much weaker than this girls mother and she scarred me. But don't think thats a reason to feel guilty. I'm of the toss my hair and scream for help school,, so no action woman stuff from me, ha ha

Welcome to Dream Views! Just sounds like that confrontation had an affect on you that's all. I wouldn't worry about it. I get a lot of dreams where I'm watching instead of participating as well. That's pretty common.
