Question Could I Be a Natural??/ CAT method

I've always had pretty vivid dreams, some recurring, and have always had a pretty high level of awareness while dreaming, sometimes I would recognize the same nightmare and be able to predict what was going to happen, although i was not necessarily able to change things or control them. I guess up until this morning I've just been having low level lucid dreams, but this morning it hit me and right afterwards i ran over to a piece of paper and the computer.

I had watched the movie "The Waking Life" and had been really into the idea, and when I realized I was dreaming in my dream this morning it all flooded back, my first impulse was to get really excited but for whatever reason I knew that I would wake up. My dream involved my father, i went over to him and asked him if we were having some sort of a lucid or joint dream, and he said yes but he wouldn't remember, once I realized I was in a lucid state I looked up towards the sky and began changing it's hue from a sunny light blue to a darker purple, and then in my excitement easily jerked open my eyes.

I went over to the computer and researched it and figured out that I had inadvertently used the CAT or cycle adjustment method, as i had a regular school day yesterday, and final exams today, meaning I could wake up later this morning than yesterday, but my body was used to waking up at the earlier time.

As i kept reading about lucid dreams i saw this

"Naturals" are Dreamers that have been lucid dreaming since before they knew what lucid dreaming was, and before they attempted to have lucid dreams.

and realized it applied to me completely, since a young age i can remember low level lucid experiences, way before i watched "the waking life"

so could I be a natural?

Yeah, I mean you cannot tell exactly who is a natural or not. Bascially we don't just define natures who had them before they found out about it. We pretty much say a "Natural" is someone who has them quite a bit without trying.

yes i would have agree with xyn here. Being a natural doesnt neccesseraly apply to people who have ld before they knew what it was, rather it would be someone who has lucid dream often and achieves lucidity easily.

      Welcome to DV, dientestorcido

That sounds like a pretty intense dream. Especially your interaction with your father, asking him if he was dreaming, too.

It must be a crazy realization to look back on your dreams and discover you've been doing something so amazing for so long. I wonder if you will be able to induce lucids easily if you learn a few of the tricks that us non-naturals use. You might have an advantage, already having had first hand experience with lucidity.

Since you already have vivid dreams, and good recall, why not jump right in and start trying for more lucids?

I have a similar question. I never try to lucid dream, and whenever I realize that I am dreaming it is because of a spontaneous action. I never have to try or use RCs. What am I doing, am I a natural or does my low LD count mean otherwise?
