to DV! Check out the Tutorial Section and specifically the DILD tutorial. You should also check out the homepage sections about reality checks and dream signs. Feel free to ask questions. Starting a dream journal is also a good idea, it will help with your recall.

Okay thanks =] what is the best time to wake up and write down my dreams? Should i have an alarm set to go off during my REM periods or wake up naturally and attempt to remember them then?

Just wake up naturally and lay still for a few minutes remembering your dreams. They'll start to come back to you pretty quickly.

Ok, sorry for all the questions, im just new and basically have no clue what exactly im doing here, although i do know the overall goal i am trying to achieve.

Once my dream recall is fairly well, what is the next step after that? I know there are multiple techniques to become lucid in a dream but which one would you suggest for a starter like me?

      Welcome to Dream Views, Chewnie91.

Check out the Quick Start Tutorial in the Tutorials section:
      http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=1518

It covers the basics of keeping a dream journal, identifying dream signs, and reality checking.

Once you feel comfortable understanding those concepts, you can move into more active lucid induction techniques. Things like MILD, WILD, DEILD, VILD, ect. If you are excited, and want to get more active, start integrating a Wake Back To Bed (WBTB) into your schedule a couple nights a week. Its basically where you wake up for a while after 5 hours of sleep, get your brain active and focused on dreaming, and then return to sleep for the rest of the night. Its pretty easy to do, and can greatly increase your chances of a spontaneous lucid.
