      Reality checks passed o.O

Okay, so I set my alarm for 830 this morning after going to sleep at around 2. I woke up but didn't want to stay up more than 1 min and went back to sleep. I fell asleep focusing on having a WILD and after a while my body is tingling, I see weird shapes, i feel as if I'm falling. Then in my mind I know that if I focus to hard I will wake up so I felt like I was wondering off for a second to slip more into dream world then quickly say to myself "i am dreaming, I am conscious." I then try to get up and I am in my room, I think "wow, I must be in a LD" so I do reality checks. I look at my clock, look away and look back. It shows a different number but I convince myself that it switched from time to date. I then look at my computer clock and it reads the SAME after i look for the second time. This also happens with a written paper on my desk, it doesn't change! So at this point I wake up (real life) and realize that the whole thing was all a dream because I fell asleep on my side but in my "dream" I fell asleep on my back.

Is this normal to have reality checks pass the check?

Also, does anyone else have these dreams that they are lucid dreaming? Maybe I have been thinking about it too much recently.

      Sweet Dreams,
      Alex

The reality checks you used are unreliable. Try something easier to do that has a better chance of success, like sticking your finger through your palm.

      Hey Alex, to DreamViews.

The reality checks you tried often do work. The problem is that when we are in a dream oftentimes we will make up excuses for why the RC passed, like you did with thinking it changed from time to date. One good rule to go by is that if you are questioning whether you are awake or dreaming then you are probably dreaming. I realize that if you are doing alot of RCs during the daytime so that it is just like an automatic thing then maybe that doesn't apply as much. I have only ever done RCs once I already know I'm dreaming to test what everyone talks about on these forums lol. Usually I will just look around and be able to tell if I am dreaming whether than relying on a certain test.
