      Yeah I'm a newbie :P

Well I finally decided to fully commit to learning how to LD. I've gone back and forth with it the past couple years, but never really dedicated much time to it. I set my alarm last night for 4:30 am, which was about 6 hours into my sleep time. I woke up and wrote down all that I could remember. It gets so frustrating 'cause I've always been able to recall my dreams easily, so when I wake up and try and write them all down my mind just feels so jumbled, there's so much to write! That took me about 10 minutes, and I layed back down and could not get to sleep. I was up for a couple hours and finally went back to bed (didn't have work today so I got to sleep in ). So as I was going back to sleep I kept repeating, "I will remember my dreams when I wake up" and things like that... well I had no problem remembering my dreams, but I kept waking up! I'm so tired now, I feel like I hardly got any rest. Will this happen all the time? Or was it just because I'm just beginning? I also tried staying conscious as I was falling asleep (don't know too much about WILD but I'm guessing this was similar to the experience). I would hear noises from my dreamworld and see things happening, but I was still sort of awake ya know? Whenever I would completely wake up I'd just think about what I was dreaming and put myself in the situation again, and it worked, sort of. I felt my hands tingling, and felt as if there was no gravity in my room, and my dream stopped and all I saw was bright white. Then I felt like I was trapped between two huge cement blocks, paralyzed I guess. Kinda strange but I was getting frustrated 'cause I couldn't start to dream again, so I woke up. Also, from what I read about WILD, it sounded similar to OBE's. It was mentioned that once you're aware of yourself dreaming you can get up out of your body and walk away and do whatever you want. I could be way off, but if not, what's the difference between WILD and OBE's? Thanks for your time

      Welcome to DV!

The idea behind an OBE is that your mental body leaves your physical body and can go places (nothing scientific about it). The idea behind a WILD is that your mind stays awake while your body falls asleep, so you go directly into a dream without losing awareness. An OBE was classified as an out-of-body experience because it feels like you were being pulled out of your body, so there might not be anything supernatural about it, and there's definately nothing supernatural about WILD's. If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of the dream guides (me, for example).

      Welcome to Dreamviews GoldenSlumbers!

I'm sure you'll be really comfortable here.
The best times of your life should not be when you're still so young, or else you'll live a life always dreaming of the past.

Heh that banner will scare people off.

Anyway welcome to the forum GoldenSlumbers.

It sounded like you experienced some sleep paralysis actually. It's a common condition where you can't move your body and occurs usually in the morning.

      Welcome GoldenSlumbers

Sounds like your putting in the hard yards

Wouldn't it be cool if oyou could set your own alamr signal to something like a voice saying

"Come out of your Lucid Dream and write me down"

Along those lines, hmm might make this into a thread
      n00bs i love you
