      Object Failure... Help triggering Mild

Hello, I've just been browsing, and have finally decided to talk. These forums apear to have floods of information, in fact, soo much that its hard to get much straight.

In the quest for controlled lucid dreaming, I have been working on my dream recall. I find that in almost all my dreams, there is an object failure, such as a vending machine eating my quarters (underwater!), Pens not writing, computers crashing, cell phones ringing (on silent...), Etc.

So, I have definate signs that i can use to recognize i'm dreaming, However i cant seem to remember during my dreams. How can i work on this, on realizing that i'm dreaming? I have signs, but i just cant remember that they are signs of a dream. I've heard of "reality" checks, but the "flood" of information has me lost.

I'm an engineer (in reality), so i am used to seeing things misfunction, and not work. How can i make the bridge here?

BTW, I had a Mild a few weeks ago, just by chance. It was awesome, and has left me wanting more. I am open to all suggestions.

Thanks to all, and have a good night!

      Welcome to DV!

If you feel overwhelmed by all the information here, try checking out the tutorials section. Lots of information is collected there, but it's easier to comprehend when it's put together in tutorials.

To your question: Try doing a reality check whenever you experience faulty objects, no matter if you're awake or dreaming. This will help you remember to do it even in a dream.

      Well done on the MILD!

Thanks, I'll read through that area again. I browsed through it, and might have missed a few things.

So in a reality check, I just stop and see if what i have seen has actually happened? It seems like it would work. But is the idea behind this, to subconciously, or instinctivly remember? if so, it makes sense.

      Thanks again! Cheers!

I was just coming to post the same question. I have some dream signs, but it never occurs to me to do a reality check.
