      Question

Hi, I just have a quick question for all of you. Whenever I dream I don't really see anything I only imagine what I am doing. I know it sounds weird, but maybe everyone is like that?

do you mean you are imaging what you are doing?
you imagine your sleeping or you imagine you doing things while you are sleeping?

You never see any visuals? I think that lots of people experience that every now and then, but most of the time we see things when we dream.

      Hi!

      Wow, that's strange.
Do you mean you think the dream instead of seeing, hearing it, etc? I've never heard of anyone dreaming like that.

      I will try and explain:

When I'm dreaming I feel like I am just lying down with my eyes closed. So I never really see anything, it just feels like when you close your eyes and imagine doing something.

      Mmmmmm...
Well, the difference between my imagining and my dreaming is that while dreaming I'm unaware of my body (and the physical world in general), I usually don't consciounsly control what I think (feel, see, so on), and things tend to feel\look consistently "hazy". Everything else is pretty much the same. That's the best thing I can come up as an answer, I'm afraid.

The very word "imagining" implies picturing\seeing things in your head - wether you're asleep or not - hence the confusion. But, yeah, I guess defining dreams really is a bit difficult no matter how you dream.

When I am really sleepy and drifting off, I will suddenly 'jerk awake' or 'drift back awake' enough to realize that I was doing some form of 'daydreaming'. Most of the time it's nonsense stuff (like once, all I remembered when drifting back was 'monster' haha) or I forget what I was thinking about. I think it's natural, like when you're meditating and your mind tends to wander.

However, when I dream (at this point in time - I'm working on it) I don't actually remember the dream as it's occurring. When I wake up, I remember it like pieces of a story I just happened to recall.

If that doesn't sound right, sorry! I just thought I'd put in my two cents worth.
