The - OMG First LD - Thread.

It seems that a large majority of the threads in this forum are simply new members saying that they have finally had a Lucid dream. I don't see any problem in people expressing this, it's just there are LOADS of these threads which consist of only one sentence in the OP (original post).

So basicly this thread is for evey newbie to express themselves on having their first LD.

It's just to make the forum abit neater.

      Wow

      Omg, congratulations ClouD.

I've been looking at this site for so long.

I had an LD a while back, but since someone made this thread, I thought I'd just say wow.

      LD's rule.

haha congratulations dude =D the chair is your dreamsign? that's pretty awesome =D I think.

YAY! to you dude. keep it up =D there'll be more coming! And the next time you have one (LD), you would actually be able to blow the chair into pieces and turn those small bits of pieces into more tiny furnitures and blow them up again, and again continuing with the process. and remain in the dream =) so keep up to good work, I'm sure you'll be able to blow up people's head in no time!

      Talking

Last night, after a WBTB, I had my very first LD! It was a DILD, I guess. I was trying to VILD that night, but I fell asleep while trying, but while I was dreaming I realized it and became lucid for a little while. This is my dream:

I am walking up to a huge house for a party. My mom tells me to go on inside and I say, "Mom I can't go in there! I don't have pants on I only have boxers! I wouldn't be caught dead w/o pants on!" My mom insists that I go inside, so I do. I later think about this some (me not having pants on and all) and I decided to do a reality check. All the test came back negative!! I freaked out like I'm dreaming!! WOOO!! I'm DREAMING! so I jump a few times trying to fly and I jump off a flight of stairs trying to fly, I suffer blindingly strong pain (pain is intensified in dreams, not to mention that falling from a flight of stairs would hurt like hell anyway... ) and

I wake up extremely excited. I then remember the other night when I dreamed that I had a lucid dream in my dream (after my fake lucid I wake up in a dream car and tell my friend how I had a lucid, but I didn't actually) so I was like, "maybe this is another fake lucid and I'm still in a dream! So, I do a RC and they come back positive and I wake up like YA!! I had my first lucid dream! All this at like 5AM so YAY!!!!!

would you consider it strange if an alien spent several hours prone each night while their soul roamed in another dimension? We are strange creatures..

!!! haha congrats man. Seriously, this forum really puts joy into everyone with their first LD and all, its like a 3 year old kid being able to do something new for the very first time! a teenager being able to...for the first time, or like experiencing birth for the very first time xD

First time by lifehouse. awesome hear.

like I said, congrats man. everyone's happy in this forum, and that's what I really truly like bout it =P okay, maybe I haven't see those topics that goes like "^&*$# WHY CAN'T I JUST DREAM WHAT I WANT!!!" but i guess, that's a good thing for now =D keep up the good work man.

Can't wait to experience another lucid dream after this post xD goodnight. and, keep on dreaming xD

Even though (supposedly) magic has nothing to do with this, you guys still sound like an effin' cult.

Thumbs up My essay on how to be a jerk, By Me

My essay on how to be a jerk
      By Me

      First try, First Lucid Dream.
      NANAHANANAHAHAHAHAHHA I WIN!!!
      /essay.

If you REALLY want to know how it goes (and it was WONDERFUL!!! all the way through!) I will tell you.
But it is VERY VERY LONG! Or at least it was when I wrote it (and I abbreviated a lot!).
So for any of you who are familiar with Ted Dekker (my favorite author) and his Circle trilogy (Black, Red, and White) you will probably see some resemblances.

I'll try to keep this short.
(A lot of first bit is only back story, and isn't really needed)
      Here it goes!
This dream is more or less of a continuation of several dreams I have had in the past. Those (this or that, depending how you look at it... I guess) dreams were not unlike those of the "Legend of Zelda" games.
I went back in time to medieval times (not a part of the dream, I started out IN medieval times) for some mission. For that entire part of the dream (and it was VERY VERY long. Trust me, you don't want the details) I had some sort of mission, that revealed itself over time. But anyway, much like a platforming video game (Mario, etc.) My only mission was to get from one side of the "map" or area to the other.
So I do a bunch of (like I mentioned before) "Legend of Zelda" styled puzzles, and I get to the other side of the area (an underground cavern, yet all the floors are covered in healthy grass, and sunlight still streams in). So when I get there I'm greated by some sort of Mafia styled mob. I dispatch them (not sure how, I may have killed them, or simply tricked them) but in the end, I did get around them. And the people who had recently started following me (some sort of "chosen" people, not unlike Moses, or in the aforementioned book "Red") are led into some sort of teleport... thing. I don't know because I don't end up in the same place that they do.

      NOW ONTO THE INTERESTING PARTS!!!

So. Much like in the first "Narnia" movie (not sure about the books) I walk out of a (only slightly) snowy woods. Now that I've thought about this (after waking up) I realize that this IS my hometown! Probably because of the recent Sugar Maple Festival (I was walking around everywhere that weekend, so it makes sense that it would be in a dream). But there was something very different about my beloved home town. There were aliens. EVERYWHERE! But in some sort of "Star Wars"-esque way, they were acting civil, like people might.

      *Begin slight Lucidity*
So I'm going around the town (not doing much of anything), until I happen upon a mugging. In my head I was formulating a plan (I felt quite bad ass) to help the victim. I run up, and strike the assailant in the head, knocking him (or her, or... it... ehh) out. At this point I assume the victim has gotten away. But I had other things to worry about.
It was time for an alien biology lesson.
Even if it is in the shape of a humanoid, DOES NOT mean that is "brain" is in its "head". Nor does that mean that striking said "head" will the alien be "knocked out".
So now I had a very annoyed alien. And did I mention it had a gun?
It started to bring that out, and then I instinctively went all Krav Maga on his alien arse. As you're supposed to do, I grabbed the top of his handgun, and turned it around so now he was in danger, and I now had the better grip. I got the gun from him, and now had the advantage. But remembering my 101 class from earlier, I didn't know how to actually subdue, or at least knock out (or the alien equivalent) my aggressor. So I shot him twice in the head. And then I left (probably in a hurry).
For the next bit, now assuming that I was a "wanted man", I basically shot anyone who might be a threat.
Which I guess wasn't a very good idea... as I found out later.

      *Lesser Lucidity*

Going back the way I came from (all the snow has been gone ever sine I saw the mugging, and now it is pretty sunny outside) I reached the place this had all started from. Apparently it was a bike-path going into very thick woods. Anyway... some very "I am Legend" type of guy (Hell, for laughs let us assume it was Will Smith. I don't really remember very specifically what any of the people in my dream looked like).
He intercepted me, and for much of the story until the end, I am mostly tagging along with Will Smith and later someone else (not sure who he or she was. She just shows up later) until the end of the dream.
So... I get in trouble because "(...) You killed the Morgoat (pronounced "More Go At")?" says Will Smith
"You mean that 'funny business' (as I called it... tee hee) in town?"
"Yeah... well that wasn't such a good idea"

Apparently the Morgoats are religious oracles or something like that.
Regardless... it was a bad thing.

So I go (with my new ally[s]) to a bus station. We get onto a school bus (apparently I'm apart of a prophesy in a very Half Life 2 like world) which in the future can apparently go about a bajillion miles per hour. At least this super secret one does.
Anyway, after doing a bunch of cool jumps and ramping off a bunch of stuff, we get to some secret base. Ironically called "Valve" (like the people who made the game Half Life) and I sort of stand by while my company handles stuff. (When I tried to use one of the many computers, apparently someone was already in session with it, so I got kicked off. But at least people in the future tend to handle things like this politely...) Anyway... we leave for another fun bus ride. Which ends with some sort of crash, and then we have to run to get to the Morgoats. Anyway... at some point during this I traded my Colt .45 (what I got from the alien that I mentioned earlier... except I think that it fired lasors. Instead of bullets. But now that I think about it, when I checked the clip it DID have bullets in it.) for Will Smiths infamous M4. Yay! Except it didn't have the attachments on it. And sadly it was blue. But I only accepted the trade because Will was complaining about carrying it or something...
Anyway, we keep on going... and at one point in time we are at this big building that sort of looks like a train station. Upon leaving it, I finally realize 100% that I am, indeed, dreaming.

*Ratchet up the Lucidity A LOT*

So I sort of run around in a circle in my excitement. And then I fly in the air for a bit (not in a dis-similar way to how Dwight Schrute flies in Second Life) and then land to tell my buddies about my new found powers!
      but then I wake up.

And spend about ten hours writing all this (on paper, then here).
      *sad face*
      But Yeah.
      *Gloat Gloat Gloat*

Congrates to all the 1st LD memeber that posted here! ('cept ClouD. *cough*luckynaturalluciddreamer*cough*)

This is a great idea Hyper, but do you think there's a way to have everyone see it? You know, like having a mod sticky it, or something?

This isn't really an OMG FIRST LD because I just remembered it and it wasnt really OMG at the time, I didn't know what the heck was going on. I don't even know if it was an LD or if it was something else.

Well I basically had an attack of sleep paralasys, especially bad this time, and I tried moving myself, I felt like I could move my limbs but my vision had a strobe, my arms were very heavy and hard to move, like wax, I'm not sure if I moved them but I could see something moving, like a shadow. I actually got out of bed I remember, I pulled myself up, I was very slow, cumbersome, hard to walk...I tried to walk towards my door to get some help or something but I slipped and fell over sideways as if a force was pulling me down on my side. I woke up and I was in my bed with covers on top of me as if I had never left. Was this a dream?

Yes. This is a false awakeing. You felt the effects of sleep paralysis and dreamt of trying to wake up out of it. This is pretty common and can be very surreal and freaky. It happened to me one time 3 times in a row. On the third one though I was able to achive lucidity, so it might do the same for you. Say you false awake in your room, but you see that something is out of wack (like your dresser is on the floor instead against a wall, or the walls painted a different color, a mirror where there shoudn't be one), and you realize your dreaming. Do a reality check just to make sure of course. After that, the possibilitiues are endless.

the problem with me and lucid dreaming is, that if i see something is really freaky or out of whack like you said, it comes off as nightmareish to me and i easily freak out or panic. several lucid dreams i've had i realized i was dreaming simply because they were boring as hell dreams where nothing special was happening. my only thought then of corse was to wake up (succeeding). do'h

If thats the case, try spinning around. I've done this before and it changes the enviroment/scenery. Like for me, in my first ld (which you will find in this thread), i was in my old school, spun around, and found myself in a gospel church of somekind. This will not increase lucdity or vividness like suggested in the site, but it does change the enviroment. Also try flying, it kicks ass.

I did fly! In my DILD, I thought "I'll go see my girlfriend!" and I flew through the ceiling and around but it was dark so I couldn't see very well but I remember the feeling I got was incredible. I want to do it again.
