      Hello

Just want to introduce myself. I'm a well aged man ready to settle down and try getting some control over my life. I was interested in LD many years ago and kept a dream journal for awhile but other things in my life took control and I let it go. I hope I make it this time as I don't have too many years left. I am completely ignorant of all the terms you use but I hope to learn their meaning.

I thought I would start out with a dumb question: Does the orientation of the bed make any difference. The head of my bed faces north, should I change it?

Don't worry about the orientation of your bed , Lucid Dreaming is fairly logical so nothing along those lines will make much difference..

      Anywho, to Dream Views!

Thanks shrimpster, my bed is very heavy and I'm glad I don't need to move it.

You're on the right track though. Dream journal is certainly the best start. There are tons of techniques that can help you to become lucid. The biggest advice I could give to someone starting out is to constantly think about dreaming throughout your day and consistently ask yourself if you are dreaming, then check to see if you're dreaming. Eventually it becomes habit and you carry it over into your dreams.

      Good luck in your venture!

Yup, like everyone else said! Dream recall is the first step. Once you can remember a couple dreams a night, you can move on to trying lucid dream techniques (which can be found in the Tutorials section).

      Welcome!

      Pastmyprime, I dig your name.

We have dreamers of all ages here. There is definitely no prime when it comes to dreaming. Well, some say teenage years are best, but I'm not so sure.

I'm a little late to the welcome party, but If you have any questions, ask away.
