      Is this really real?

Ok. I know it's a crazy question to ask, but is this really what you can do? Dream Guides? I believe it, but I don't believe it too! What do I first do when I become lucid? And yes I know it's all just a dream.

      Yes, lucid dreaming is real.

What you do first once you become lucid is completely up to you. If you have never experienced it before, you might like to fly. On the other hand, you might want to get ahead of the game and instead just pause, take in all the detail you can, and marvel at the fact that your mind created all the magnificent things you see in your dream, and then go for a flight. In my experience, taking in some detail first will enhance the experience.

I guess your a skeptic. I always heard of people yelling out : Dream Guide appear and the dream guide should appear.

Thats extremely common, I'm just the same.

Anyway, the first thing I would do, is get a head-start and read on Dream Stabilization, so that you can hang onto your first dream long enough to enjoy it. Most people get overly excited and wake themselves up due to the excitement. So read up on the methods to stabilize your dreams, so that once you get it, you'll keep it.

Afterwards, start with something rather easy... flying seems to be easy for me, but if you find you can't do that after your first couple attempts, find a Dream Character, and start telling them its a dream, thats always amusing to see their reactions.

I know to stabalize it... rub hands, spin, swim in water, look at the ground, and DON'T PANIC OR GET OVEREXCITED. (and remind that it's a dream)

I've never tried looking for my dream guide, because whenever I go lucid I instantly forget (almost) anything I was thinking about during the day. It's like my memory goes out the window. However this thread has inspired me to look for my 'dream guide'. I think the only reason our 'dream guides' exist is because we believe they do. Who knows. If your mind can produce a fully sensory environment, with sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste, and even emotions; who knows what it's capable of. And to think we (apparently) only use 10% of our brains..

When you first become lucid its all in your mind, eating dream food will only taste like you want it to taste, for example if i ate a peice of bread and imagined it tasting like strawberries it would.
When you become Lucid the only restrictions is your own mind, you can do what you want.

You should try to prolong the dream instead, practise the techniques like the rubbing hands technique...etc. Dream guides are hogwash/illusion that they are real although many people want to believe them to be real, I doubt they are other than a figment of the subconcious that probably knows as little as the dreamer.
