Seems fine to me. And sleep paralysis is a natural thing, as far as I know, if it's against God heaven would be a very hard goal to accomplish.

God is quite lucid, I assure you.

Do you mean God? I'm not sure if the letters stand for something else...you know they're all capitalised, and I found it hard to convince myself you were just leaning on the shift key every so...

      First of all, to Dreamviews!

No, lucid dreaming is NOT, I repeat NOT ungodly, in any way, form or fashion. It is simply a way to explore our subconscious, in a way. Sleep paralysis is merely your body's way of making sure that you don't act out your dreams as you sleep. Your body enters SP as you enter REM sleep, effectively paralysing your limbs so that they don't respond to the stimuli sent by your dreaming brain.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to describe it better than I can. Sleep paralysis, being completely natural and a part of everyone's night, is also in no way going against God.

Welcome. I don't feel qualified to talk about what is or is not against God.

I'm quite new here myself and in my time here I've noticed a sad lack of Christians, so welcome. I hope it goes well here.

I think the most important thing here is to make sure that its not something that you obsess over (making it an idol). If you are a Christian (which I am as well) you may find it important to live in your dreams as you do in life - abiding by the same moral principles. But that shouldn't prohibit you from enjoying many aspects of LD possibilities. Flying, adventure seeking, talking to DCs, etc. You may decide, depending on your faith, to stay away from sexual encounters, killing, etc. But keep in mind that yo may not always be able to determine the situations that you find yourself in, while LDing.

As far as Sleep Paralysis goes, I don't see any way that it could be an issue. It is a natural effect of the natural sleep cycle that you experience every time you sleep. It can be alarming when you first experience it though. "Losing Self Control," in my opinion, applies to the habits of your daily life. Don't abuse the pleasures of this world, because they are a dim reflection of the glory of God, etc. LDing is not like a drug, in that everyone can do it without stimulants or poisoning themselves, but it can be abused if you let it replace your faith.

Remember: you dream every night - regardless of whether or not you are aware.

Sleep paralysis is a normal, natural process. Basically it is there to keep your sleeping body from acting out your dreams which, obviously, would be really dangerous. It happens to you every time you dream, wether you notice or not. If you believe God designed your body, it follows that He also designed sleep paralysis to protect it. The sensations that you may feel during SP are how your mind interprets the changes that are taking place. The images, sounds, and other sensations you may experience (hypnagogic imagry - HI) are related to your mind shuffling the memories you've recently made, fitting them in with your past memories. These are all normal, necessary processes of a healthy human body, designed by God.

Lucid dreaming is simply realizing you are dreaming while in a dream. Many people naturally lucid dream without ever trying to. While it is rare to have complete control and completely normal (ie waking) thought processes while lucid, you still have some choice about your actions. Decide what you think is moral in dreams and do your best to stick by it. Remember that your subconscious mind is in charge of dreams, you may not have many options in dreams, and it may not always be easy to think clearly in your dreams - lucid or not. There is nothing un-Christian about lucid dreaming, as long as you stick by your morals.

People, the question isn't "Is lucid dreaming against god?". It's, are your reasons and intensions for wanting to obtain lucidity against god? Some people could want to obtain lucidity for their own private reasons which could be un-christian. I'm also christian. I'm also from the bible belt. I live in the heart of Nashville. No I'm not redneck, and no I'm not brainwashed haha. I have seen people like that and it gives christians a poor reputation. Please people, think for yourself, be a free thinker... even if you're christian, especially if you are. I believe that god gave us these abilies for a reason if you can do something beautiful with them. Imaginations are healthy.

There was a time when potato was considered against God and devil food. Pope John Paul II said that condoms must not be used because they are against God. God knows how many people who listened (especially in Africa) died of aids.

I think if you're mentally healthy then you have the capacity to think for yourself and decide whether it's against God or not.
