Question Hello out there!!! Noob here! :)

I have always been a lurker of forums but when I found this site I felt the need to join because I am truly obsessed about dreaming/dream states/AP. Maybe not OBSESSED but ya know what I mean!!

I didn't really know what lucid dreams were until recently. Upon finding out exactly what they are I realized that I've had these types of dreams before. I've also experienced an OBE and other bizarre events in my life so I felt like I'd fit in good here!

The last few nights I have been attempting to have lucid dreams but I find that once I start to get SP I get really uncomfortable and itchy so I just HAVE to move around!! Any tips on what I can do?? Usually I lay on my side or stomach when trying to go to sleep. Would it work better if I tried to lay flat on my back? Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks in advance!

Welcome. when i try to wild laying on m back seems to work best for me. For the itching try to ignore it and not think about it. I ussually dont have problem with iching but when i do i ignore it. Usually after a few minutes of trying to wild you may have the feeling to move or scratch an itch, most of the time its your body seeing if your still awake, ignore it and it should go away in few seconds or couple minutes.

Thanks alot for the input! I will try it laying on my back tonight..I have tired my body by doing some exercise today in hopes that maybe it'll help my body just relax and do it's thing tonight since I heard this helps also. I'll try to ignore the itching but it's so hard sometimes! LoL Thanks again

I usually WILD. I would try the WBTB method but I'm horrible at getting back to sleep once I'm up!

ya a lot of people use wbtb with wild. Try it, it could be easier for you to wild.

I see..so do you try out different combinations and see what works best for you? I think I may need to try out some different combo's because I don't know if I can get over the uncomfortable feeling that i get when SP is setting in.

kole is suggesting using a WBTB with a WILD because it is increadibly difficult to WILD when you first go to bed. This is because the first REM (dream) phase of sleep dosn't start until about 90 min into the night. And this first REM phase will be really short. So basically WILDing first thing at night = lots of hard work for very little dream time.

If you do a WBTB (or even wake up, stay in bed, and then WILD) after 3-6 hours of sleep it will be much easier to WILD and the REM phase will be much longer.

      And to DV!!
