      I'm new to these forums.....HI!

      Hello everybody,

This is my first post on these boards, so i figure i will share a little bit about myself and my dream habits.

I am currently 23 years old, and i'm about to celebrate my 24th birthday on the 12th of next month. I have always loved dreaming and having dreams. As far as i can remember i have always had vivid dreams.

When i was a youngster, starting around 3 or 4, i remember always having nightmares. These presisted for many years and came in different forums, some reoccuring, some just different. I remember praying every night at one point so i would stop having them, and eventually i they stopped.

During my teen years, i was plagued by deja vu. This occurance become such common place that i began dismissing them as just another deja vu. I blame my dreams for them personally, and i feel many of my unremembered dreams are related to my deja vu.

As i approached my 20's, i have begun to have lucid dreams. I tryed to find out if anybody else has had similar experiences as myself, but many of my friends didn't know anything about it. Until tonight, i didn't even know that there was a term used to describe the experiences i was having during my dreams.

I did a quick google search last night on dream interpretations because i was interested in finding information about some of my reoccuring dreams. While searching through the site i read mention about lucid dreams. I also found a link from the forums of that web site to this one.

I read through this sight, and here i am on the forums as a new register.

It's cool to know other's are having the same experiences i am within my dreams, and i'm looking forward to honing in on my abilities to become concious, and aid in the shaping of my dreams.

      see you around the forums.

      Welcome Loam,

Glad you found us . There are lots of resources here to learn more about LDs--dig into the main page and the tutorials. If you're looking for some quick inspiration, check out the movie "Waking Life." Good luck

With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

when i found this site, i took several hours reading through everything before i posted my first post.

i'm usually a night owl, so i stayed up on this site till like 10am before i went to sleep.

Just because i had been thinking about it so much that night, i had like 50 lucid dreams. The main problem with all those lucid dreams is that i was so tired for lack of sleep that they were only lucid for a few moments, with very low lucidity. The other problem is my alarm clock was constantly going off telling me i had to get up for work, LOL.

I am thinking about keeping a dream journal now though, just for the simple fact that most of my dreams, and dreams in general have fasinated me sense i was a young boy. It would be cool to have a log of all that i remember from my dreams, to look back at some time later.

I suffer from insomnia at times, but being a night owl helps with the problem somewhat. As a result of those two conditions, i have irregular sleep habits. This might make a sleep journal somewhat harder for me then for most.

Looking forward to reading and posting here.
