Thumbs up Yet another new member :)

      Hi guys,

I've had some really amazing (both good and bad) dreams and just happend to stumble across this awesome forum. I had no Idea so many people shared similar dreams to me about a sort of impending apocalypse, these dreams have drove me to find out if others have had them too. Turns out I'm not the only freak in the institute lol

So anyway on to Lucid dreaming. I have had random ones here and there over the years and never really thought much of them, or been aware that they were lucid till I got into reading about them on these forums.

Since joining last week sometime and Ive had 2 or three deliberate ones.

I read about a method where you imagine yourself walking from your room, to outside and down your garden path or whatever and by then you should be lucid. Well, its worked the twice Ive tried, after a decent enough sleep.

      This one is from 25/7/08

I had woke up and fell back asleep as to try and get lucid, next thing I know I'm looking out my window, its a perfect blue sky and there is an object floating in the sky. I then questioned myself if it was a dream and pinched myself, I felt the pinch and guessed i must be awake (quite dizzily like a blonde lol no offence girls ).
This object turned into a Gundam type robot and then appeared in my room. It then carried me outside from my room to outside the front of my house.

There was a distant star wars type battle going on, and the Gundam needed me to help fight in the war. It had lifted me off the ground and tried to fit over me like a rollercoaster harness as it was lifting me. It then cut to me looking at my leg in my room and my skin was crawling, I was then aware of my physical body. It then cut back to me outside, the robot vanished and I fell and hit the ground, I then got a mouthful of cut grass and soil, and was spitting it out, It felt like I was physically doing it. It felt as though I was awake, I then looked down and saw I was in my boxers and that I had slept walked outside, this further adding to the confusion and excitement of my lucid state. I genuinely thought I was outside in my boxers, then as I headed back to the house I was woken up by my alarm!

Also two nights before I dreamt I was a super hero trying to get rid of nuclear bomb. It was a lucid state dream as I remember trying to fly and being aware of my physical body (again! anyone have this problem) I was asking how far the blast radius would reach and how strong the bomb was (It was 5 megatons, whatever that means I dont know and it had a 5 mile blast radius). It was no bigger than the size of a football.
I tried to fly it straight up but I would only go so far off the ground. I looked up and thought I couldnt go that high as I would need to go out of space, I kind of panicked and kind of didnt think I could fly that high without losing my breath or whatever. (I managed to disarm the bomb by the way )

Does anyone else get this kind of feeling? Either being scared to fly too high or just simply thinking you cant?

I am new to this kind of thing since discovering the forum, so Im reading that plenty of practice and patience is key to achieving what you want in dreams.
If anyone has any cool Ideas to try or goals I could benefit from on the flying thing, it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for taking time out to read this lol

Welcome to DV! Those are some cool dreams. Did you drift in and out of realizing it was a dream, or did you just think it was all real?

I'm a little confused as to what you mean by being aware of your physical body? Do you mean you could feel your body asleep in bed during the dream?

To help with the flying problem, I suggest reading The Nature of Dream Control by The Cusp. It is an on-going thread and not all of it is on-topic, but it remains the authority when it comes to any problems with control in a dream. I've been LDing for a couple of decades and I still learned a lot from that thread.

If you have any questions just ask. Or you can PM a member of the staff (like me).

Thanks seeker, thanks for taking the time to reply I'm fascinated by the whole concept, even though I dont understand much of it at the mo. I know I have experienced lucidity in the past. I have had dreams I have believed to be real. I mean the other night I had one where my mum (who is deceased) came into my room (ive had loads of vivid dreams with her being there as if coming home to visit and I dont bat an eyelid in the dream, so to speak) and me being in a lucid state confused this for reality and had a go at her and my dad (still alive lol) for lying to me about it all! As if she could just walk back into my life after being presumed dead for all these years. Plus I had watched the news during the day and the whole John Darwin thing was on so it might of been inspired by that. I apologise for rambling but there is so much to share lol!

As for the whole drifting in and out of thinking Im dreaming and being awake the past few nights I have been aware of this. I was stroking stone like it was real, the texture of it felt so real. I feel like Ive just got hold of the best gadget in the world and the manual is massive! lol Im just starting to explore this and I get excited when trying to induce a lucid dream, I had 3/4 mini ones this morning.

"I'm a little confused as to what you mean by being aware of your physical body? Do you mean you could feel your body asleep in bed during the dream?"

Well in the dream, I remember it cutting to a view of my left leg. Its weird to describe but, I was lifting my leg off the bed and my skin was crawling. It was as though I was being told that Im too aware of the physical world to let go in the dream and thats how Im not flying, as in being "aware" or my "physical" body. Didnt come to me in words, you know that way you just know? But anyhoo hope that makes a bit more sense lol

Wow you really can let yourself type a wealth of stuff on here.

Hopefully I'll get better at posting making my points more ...to the point lol
