      How does music affect lucidity?

hi guys, i'm new here. i decided to start this for fun i guess, and also, as a practicing Buddhist, it still amazes me what the mind can do.

anyways, i got the LD mp3 from really. (the user). it made me wonder, does different types of music influences what types of dreams you have, lucid or not? for example, music with ocean waves might trigger an ocean dream, or theme music might correspond with a related dream.

this is a very interesting website, and everyone here seems very knowledgeable and keen to listen. i appreciate it.

I've been wondering about this this too. It would be amazing to play music and have a dream correspond with it.

I am eagerly awaiting an answer.

Hmmm, good question. I think it's possible to have sounds dictate dreams. Pretty consistantly the clock radio fails to wake me and I instead dream that I'm driving and listening to the radio. And once I heard a siren and dreamed that the house was burning and there were firetrucks everywhere. Never seems to work when I would like it to though.

Sound can definately influence dreams, there's been plenty of times where I've dreamed about a TV show, then woken up and found that my brother was watching it in the next room. Someone probably should experiment with it more, and try to see if they could know how sounds affect their dreams well enough to control their dreams through carefully recorded tapes played back at precise intervals.

yeah ive always wondered whether or not music has any influence on dreams. i actually was able to play one of my favorite songs in my head in a lucid dream! it was a little out of order at times but it was still awesome.

but i plan on doing an experiement that involves going to sleep listening to different types of music and seeing how they affect my dreams... ill report back when i do!
