      Hello - and an RC question

      Hey everybody, I just joined this site and started reading up on all the dream stuff. It's really interesting.

      I started keeping a dream journal a few days ago, but I haven't had any entries so far....



      Anyway last night I tried doing the nose RC in my dream. I pinched it, but I swear I still couldn't breathe. Even though I KNEW it was a dream cause things were so unlikely. So I kept on doing it, thinking "cmon... this HAS to be a dream!" and I wanted to make SURE before I did anything drastic. But it kept indicating it was reality. I couldn't breathe.
      Do RCs not work sometimes? Or only work for certain people?
      Or was I kind of half-asleep and pinching my nose in real life? lol.... at least it did actually end up being a dream after all.

      Welcome to DV!

      Not all RCs work for all people. A lot of people swear by the nose plug RC, but it doesn't work for everyone, apparently including you. There are others you can try that might work better. Like the "finger through palm" one, for example.

      I suggest everytime you are pretty sure that you are in a dream you just do multiple RCs, different ones would be the best.

      About that pinching your nose in reality. Nope thats impossible since you're in sleep paralysis while dreaming so you wouldn't be able to.

      Just try again next time, work on your believe and try different RCs if one doesn't work
