Last night was my first attempt at a lucid dream. When I was lying in bed, i kept telling myself to remember and control what I dream. I also paid attention to my breaths. |

Welcome to DV and congrats on the lucid! The tutorial section has information on lucid dreaming induction techniques. For staying in the dream longer/making it clearer, some people rub their hands together or spin. For me it helps to focus on the details of a small part of the dream until it becomes more stable. |

When you hear that cold wind calling,
Hold on tight to your dream."

Having your first lucid and having it last a few minutes is progress itself. A lot of people get too excited during there first one and wake up after a second or two. As for making it last longer, what nautilus said is on the mark. As soon as you realize that you are lucid, stop and try to become completely aware of your surroundings. I typically do a reality check again just to really convince myself. Then I'll run my hands together or focus on the surroundings. |
