      Hey guys.

      Hi.
My first lucid dream happened when I was 5 or 6. I'd had a horrible recurring nightmare about being bounced out of bed by the springs, and there was a clown in there too. Not too great.
But after months of having this, I finally realised when I felt the "bouncing" out of bed, to just lie there and know this was a dream. It happened only once again and didn't cause me any trauma.

Since then, I haven't had too many lucid dreams but over the last few months I've gone lucid a few times each month, always a DILD.
I've decided that going on a forum like this will give me new insight into how I can go lucid more often.

I'm going to start a dream journal and all that business.
The other night I tried the MILD technique but didn't sleep because (I think) was concentrating too hard.
Last night, I read before I slept, put on the "Relaxing music" playlist on my iPod (not ambient music which is something I might try), and told myself that I would recognize a dream when I have one. No dice.

      Thanks for having me!
Have you guys got any quick list of links to tell me where I should start?
I'd also like to try WILD at one point, I can feel sleep paralysis occuring (twitches in legs and arms, eyes being tightly closed without me actively shutting them) but never have fallen deep asleep while still awake.

You've come to the right place!

You sound like another natural lucid dreamer! I too first became lucid to deal with nightmares during my early childhood. As I got older I had fewer and fewer LDs. Eventually I decided to learn more about LDing. Now, thanks to a combination of my natural ability and some techniques I've learned I LD pretty much everynight.

You are on the right track with starting a DJ. It will really improve your dream recall ability. I suggest reading the acronym list so you will know what everyone is talking about. Here is a good quick-start tutorial. I'm personally a huge fan of the DEILD technique. Basically it is a short, easy WILD. Here is the newest DEILD tut. It includes links to all the old tuts as well.

If you have any more questions or problems just ask. Or you can PM me or anyone else on the staff.

Read the information on the homepage, specifically the one about dream signs and reality checks. That should start you on your way.

      Thanks for the welcome guys.
Definitely will look at all the stuff you posted.

Had a dream last night, wrote it down right after it happened, and wrote it online.

I think there might be some things you could interpret from it, but nothing too exciting. No lucidity.
      Thanks again!
