      End of Days 2012 Dream

...well, this seemed more like a nightmare than a dream, but I wonder if anyone has an interpretation of what my dream might mean?

I started off walking through a town that was unfamiliar to me and it seemed a little chaotic. The electricity had been out in the entire town. Everyone was outside talking amongst each other saying "Today is the day the world is supposed to end" And I thought to myself "It's the year 2012 and this is the time that everyone thinks the world's going to end" but I denied it and said that everyone was just paranoid. So I walked inside this convention center. It was a huge building with lots of people inside. and I took a seat in the very front row. I was there to enter my artwork in a competition. Just then, I turned around, and my mother and my boyfriend were coming through the doors of the build and they looked horrified. Just then, the ground began to shake violently and people began to scream. I pictured an asteroid hitting the earth in my mind. I remember getting up and running to my boyfriend. I hugged him tightly with one arm, and I grabbed my mothers hand with my other arm. My boyfriend said to me "The world is coming to an end and I had to be with you one last time" Then the building started to crumble to the ground, and a giant flood began to take over everyone. The sky was an unusual color and the sun was so bright. It was red and looked alot closer to the earth. People were screaming and crying, and I saw people drowning. My mother got swept away. I clung to my boyfriend and we tried to keep our heads above water. I was screaming and crying and I felt tremendous fear. I remember screaming "I don't want to die! I still have so much to do, so much to live for" There was this raft like structure floating in the water in the distance and lots of people were trying to climb on top it. Just then, an angel decended down from the sky. It's wings were incredibly long. The angel's robes were all white and flowing, and it had a very bright glow to it. It looked straight at me with no expression, and didnt say anything. I didnt feel fear anymore. I felt calm and at peace. I dont remember dying in this dream, but everything felt so real. Does anyone have any idea what my dream might signify?

Creepy. You know, both Nostradamus (a prophet) and the Mayans predicted that the world would end in 2012. The Mayans were more specific. Researchers have translated the exact date that they gave as the day the world would end as December 21st, 2012.

I don't believe in it, though. I'm Christian and the book of Revalations doesn't mention 2012.

I wouldn't worry about it. You probably heard about 2012 somewhere and then dreamed about it because it was on your mind, even though it isn't real/true. Just like Paperdoll. Maybe not. *snicker*

are you sure the mayan's predicted it ends in 2012? i know at 2012 the mayan calender "era" or whatever ends and it would start a new one, that's about all i've heard. nostradamus also made predictions that never happened, i'm sure the same is with the mayans. the future isn't set in stone so they don't know what's going to happen ;D i can make predictions like they did and it'll be true. for instance.. i predict someone dies of gunfire in the U.K. tonight.

You're right, I think that my post needs some clarification. The Mayans said that on December 21st, 2012, the gods would destroy the earth with fire, snakes, and a bunch of other fun things. Then the world would be born anew and a new era of men would come into being and rule once again. Happy?

But, as I previously stated, I actually don't believe in those predictions. On December 22nd, 2012, I'm gonna wake up and laugh.

Do you read up a lot on eschatology? Are you concerned about the end of the world?

I doubt the world is ending in 2012 and I don't believe in propothetic dreams. But dreams like this can still be very distressing and may signal something you fear.

no i'm sorry, they said nothing about the world ending, or being destroyed in any way or form, when they searched mayan cities and ruins they found calenders and one calender known as the "long count" calender is the calender they're going by to get this "end of world" date because the day resets to 0 every 1,872,000 days and the next reset day is supposedly december 21st 2012, and the mayans didn't say the world was going to end they said it's a transition into a new world age, the message they give concerns our making a choice of how we enter the future ahead, our moving through with either resistance or acceptance will determine whether the transition will happen with cataclysmic changes or gradual peace and tranquility

i'd find it hard to believe any of their prophecies anyways since they couldn't even see their own destruction.

I made no claim. I just said you can find certain things within Scripture, and the same things about the same time, is in more than one place in the text. And, because you have a difficult time with English, does not mean it is crytic.

The definition of sentience is the ability to predict results, history, and even human history. To claim the impossibility to predict results, because of the magnitude of them, is to predict your own impossibility because that is what sentience does, that is its function.
