      Arrow Help Please

      I have just started reading up on Lucid Dreaming as of today and tonight will be my first try. Tomarrow I will make my first Dream Journal Entry if possible and I would like some help ... if any of you have any tips it would be amazingly helpful. I don't think I will have trouble begining my Lucid Dream because I have had many in my past just controlling them and staying lucid but I will also like tips to help me become lucid. Please if you can help it will be appreciated by much.

      Welcome to Dreamviews! Control is something that's best taken one step at a time. When starting out, try spawning something behind you, or walking through a door telling yourself where it will take you. Once I have done a few simple things already in a dream, I find harder things much easier. When it comes to inducing lucid dreams, my favorite method is just a plain WBTB, but only when I have time to sleep. You might try WILD as well. Experiment and see what works for ya. Good luck!

      Pastulio is right. Dream control comes with practice. However, time and practice don't always do it. I know, I've been LDing since I was a kid and it is only recently that I've gotten what I'd call "goddess-like" control. For me the difference was not in more time and patience, but when I read and started using the principles outlined in the thread The Nature of Dream Control by The Cusp. You can link to that thread here. It is long and on-going, but most of what you need to know to really take control in your dreams is in the first few pages.

      look, if you are trying tonight it's just important that you have a clear idea of what you are trying. I presume you are using a technique to try to get lucid? Make sure you understand it and give it 100%. If you "kind of" try, then failure will occur. Commit and goodluck

      I've been lucid dreaming for almost as long as I can remember;

      How I do it is ... "keeping a strong grip on reality"

      Basically I used to have a fair amount of nightmares when I was a kid but then i stopped them by myself just by remembering where I was (in bed obviously) ... so I'd find myself falling into a pit and be thinking to myself
      "wow this is a fun one" (i can distinctly remember that one)

      If you like superheroes and things like that try imagining yourself having some sort of power whenever you remember to (even when awake).

      That sounds insane I know; but whenever I'm dreaming I can move stuff with my mind/shoot webs/fly even when its not a full lucid dream because I want to even when I'm awake.

      As everyone else said, start slow. Use passive dream control for a while until you have practice keeping yourself in the dream. Controlling the dream too much can cause you to wake up.
