      Noob DILD Help, please.

Alright, so last night I went to bed..
I was slept in my brother's room, just incase if I had a FA that I would know that I was still dreaming, ect.

Well, I set my alarm for 6 hours..
I went to bed and I had a dream that I was in some foreign country, my recall isn't that good, but I'm planning to work on it.
I'm going to go get my DJ later.
But well, all I remember really was that some guy asked me if I was that guy on youtube &I was like.. "YEAH! That's me!" &I woke up.
When I woke up I was like.. FUCK!

      I got up &I did some RC's .
I went back to sleep about 5mins later, then I was dreaming about camels &I was like.
Dude I'm dreaming, &it just exactly like any other dream then opened my eyes &woke up.
^I don't really know if I was dreaming or whatever that was.

But yeah, my only question is..
How do you actually get to a point where you can actually stop &be like..
"Wtf, I'm dreaming." or Just out of nowhere perform a RC..
      I don't see how. :[

I'm not frustrated or anything, I just want to be a Lucid Dreamer. :]

      ..Also, I have another question.
Last night when I first went to bed.
I was lying there for awhile trying to clear my head only concentrating on my breathing.
Well, I was doing so for about 5 minutes until my breathing starting to somehow "change"
Like, I was breathing but like instead of going in and out it was going crazy.
Like it would move from side to side and through my nose, ect.
Then my body started to feel "lifted", slightly.
After so, my hands started to numb up &then started to get really sweaty..
With all this, my eyes started to twitch like CRAZY.
I couldn't take it anymore so I opened my eyes.
I put my hand on my chest to check my heartbeat and it was beating pretty uberly fast.

      Can somebody explain what happened?

Okay, just to clarify, you had 2 dreams, both of which you realized you were dreaming and woke up a second later?

No, the first dream I didn't realize anything..
I was just there &when he asked me if I was the guy on Youtube, I replied with a
"yes" type response &after so I just woke up..

I went back to bed &I don't know if I was actually asleep this time or if I was just seeing shit in my head before I was asleep.
But I just saw camels in the desert so I was like. "I'm dreaming, I can do whatever I like."
      &I just woke up..

Is a lucid dream any different from a regular dream?
I don't know how it is for everyone else, but during my dreams I usually can't control anything.
But like, If I'm afraid then I scream, run, ect.
But everytime I scream in my dreams, I can't.
&whenever I try to run, I feel weight down, and somewhat immobolized.

&Usually dreams are sorta "faint", like the images are shit to me.
It doesn't feel real, or seem real at all.

So my other question is, when you're dreaming &you realized you're dreaming, does everything just change?
As in like, everything seems much more realistic &you can actually think straight as if you were in the waking world?

I'm just so very confused from all this.
&I'm so sorry for asking so many questions. :[

Ah, I see. For newbie dreamers, that's how it first starts. Something out of the ordinary, or completely normal, happens that instantly triggers the realization that it's all a dream, only for the dreamer to wake up a second afterwards. This can only mean that you're close, if not very much so.

Now for your 1st question; Oh, yes, an LD is FAR more different than a regular dream. For some, it's more realistic than real life, for others, that same feeling of "More than real" is there, but with an always present 'dreamy' sensation. I'm the latter of the 2. Either way, you're the only one that will know what an LD feels like to you.

2nd question; Hmm...does everything change? Well, I'm what I like to call a "Spontaneous Flyer", so until I control myself, straight thinking isn't my strong point. But I know a few people that think much better in dreams than in real life. It all depends, again, on the dreamer.

And your questions in the OP; you don't see how to stop and realize your dreaming or do an RC? Because that takes practice. (Now sure if I answered that right or not...)

And the experience you posted in your post edit is SP.

Questions aren't bad. It's how we help, so please, don't hesitate to ask!!!

Thank you so much, that cleared up a lot of things for me. [:

I've been doing a lot of RC's lately, &I ask myself &my brother a alot of I'm dreaming or not.
I hope that it'll follow me in my dream or whatever so I can go lucid. ;D

      Would that work?

Yep. Maybe if you ask your brother a lot, he'll become a Dream Sign for you, if he isn't already.

      Glad I could help.

What RC are you using? Just curious.

I'm using the nose plug and breathing and the middle and pointing finger through my other hand's palm.

      What do you suggest?

Oh, there's nothing wrong with that one; it feels really cool in an LD. I use the finger-through-palm RC. It's always fun learning what techniques others use.

This will be my second night trying to LD.

The thing is, I rarely ever see my brother in my dream, so yeah. D:

Good Luck with LDing, and just to add to what Snowy said, it's normal to wake up immediately after you become lucid when you're a newbie, but it does get longer and more enjoyable as you become better at it.

I would recommend you do RCs whenever something strange happens or if you may think it's a dream, just to save time.

As we're on the topic of dream signs, it'll be helpful if you notice any once your recall gets better as they can be extensively helpful with getting LDs.

ooh, and look at the tutorials if you haven't already done so .
