Hi! Just starting out (with questions of course)

Well, I just found out what lucid dreaming is about a week ago and I must say that it is extremely fascinating. I have read a few of the tutorials and also a number of other posts but I do have a question of my own.

I do have a relatively good dream recall (although i have trouble on the normal every-day dreams. I can usually remember the big epic ones easily) and have been working on that. Many of the websites say that before starting to attempt to lucid dream, one should develop up-average dream recall. I guess my question is...in y'all's experiences...how long did you wait (while keeping a DJ) before attempting to go lucid? I have been working on performing RC...should I be doing that at this early stage?

Thanks, any advise would help out a lot XD

Well, I didn't wait. That's probably why it took me so long.

I'd say to up your recall until you can remember at least 1 a night. And doing RCs is perfectly fine. In fact, it's smiled upon if you start doing them when you're 1st starting out.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask.

Hey Welcome to the DV forums!!
I agree with Snowy Egypt, if you have decent dr in the first place then just start trying to lucid dream asap!

Even just talking about lucid dreaming here will help your subconscious put your mind, and hence dreaming, into a more lucid state...

Since i started posting on here about 4 days ago I have remembered dreams from every night Mostly with semi-lucidity as in questioning whats happening but only half realising I'm dreaming but a couple of controllable dreams too.

If you can remember a dream every night on average you should be ready to lucid dream. A way to help recalling dreams is that when you wake up lay perfectly still with your eyes closed. Your mind thinks that you are going back to sleep and turns all the dreaming stuff back on, bringing back the memory of the last dream. Should take less than a minute.
