Confused, Did I have a Lucid Dream?

Ok everyone, For starters I would like to apologize for any grammatical mistakes I make in advance. I literally just woke up and have to get out the door soon.
So I may be rushing a tad.

For starters, I found this community yesterday after reading about lucid dreaming in a few other places. I was instantly mesmerized and very interested in delving deeper into these dreams. Well I found these boards and read others experiences and read the how to WILD tutorial. After reading I decided I would attempt it myself.

Now here is where it gets strange and I get confused. I woke up after sleeping for awhile(I always do for some reason) and got up and used the bathroom performed some reality checks I read about, just to be safe. Upon laying back down I began following the steps to WILD. The pain anchor did not allow me to relax easily so I decided to use a low hum outside my window as one. I relaxed everything, and then this odd feeling came over me. It is really hard to describe but it was kinda like a numbing I guess.
Then next thing I know I am standing in my room and knew I was in a dream considering certain things around me were different and this feeling I had.
I walked out of my room and out the front door, At this point I was amazed.
I jumped and went higher than normal than fell a tad slower. It was an amazing thing like nothing I have ever known. I saw what appeared to be 2 people kinda down the road and tried running towards them but there was a huge chain fence in the way and I did not jump high enough to get over it and had no clue how to fly. I then proceeded to run to a friends house and about then I awoke from it.

Now here is my question, Was this all a typical dream?
I know I could control what I was doing because I thought things through as they went, Like in an attempt to make my jump higher I ran up a wall a little bit then pushed off. Also I remember things completely clearly. Either way it was an amazing thing and it left me wanting more. I will more than likely be attempting again tonight.

Any input on my experience would be fantastic. I really need help understanding this phenomenon. Thanks so much for your time.

      -Jon

If you were aware that you were dreaming while in the dream, then by George you were lucid! Sounds like you WILDed on you first try(lucky).

Thanks a ton for confirming this, It was the oddest thing I have ever been through in my life.
All day today I could barely concentrate on anything else.

      nice try

you had lucid,, however you could control it , like you said you did not know how to fly or jump the fence,,, you have to belive that all is possible (as it is) in dream world,,, so next time you could get over fence if you like,,, and that would be dream control.

Yes my friend, you were Lucid. And congrats on getting it on your very first attempt. But yeah, like Moni said, whenever you want to do something in a dream: you have to know that you can do it in order to do so. Like in my 2nd LD, I just ran and took off to the sky because I knew I could, therefore I did. Keep this in mind on your next WILD attempt and best of luck.

      Wow.
I would like to begin by saying that this is a great community.
Your answers have all been very supportive and helpful, thanks a ton.

I do have a few questions for you all.
In this WILD I did feel like I had a paralyzed feeling, I also didnt hear any odd sounds like I hear people experience, I am very worried next time I try that these will happen.
How often do these sort of things actually occur?

Well, for me, they occur 100% of the time.
But the key to eliminating any fear is getting used to all of it by practice. Practicing will get you used to SP, the effects of SP, and how SP affects you. This is the best way of eliminating any fear of SP besides knowing that its all in you head and that none of it can affect you.
