      Smile SP!

Last night I attempted to have a WILD. Unfortunately, I was too excited to fall asleep, but I did go into SP, and it was cool. First, I laid down, very still, for about 5-10 minutes. Then, I felt like I was falling. After that, my eyes started twitching uncontrollably fast. Later, I heard clicking sounds coming from outside my door. It sounded like two pieces of wood being hit together. It was quiet, and went away. Then, My legs felt like they were moving. They felt like they were rising, and I felt like I formed a V position in my bed. Then, I heard a cracking sound coming from outside the window. Like, a continual cracking, which went on for what seemed like 20 minutes. Afterwards, I grew impatient, and just went to sleep. I WAS SO CLOSE! I think I need to set a better anchor next time. The throbbing pain in my foot went away after just 20ish minutes.

...ok, I just wanted to post that... any comments? I'm going to try again tonight

Yeah man, you were too close! That sucks you went to sleep, you were almost there! Next time, dont give up on it until you get it; you'll be glad you didnt.
I know this doesnt sound very helpful, but you should always use your mind as a back-up anchor (its my primary anchor, so its fairly reliable).

      Wow! That was so close!

My problem is staying still for a long enough period of time for SP to kick in .
I know thats so weak minded of me, i end up just getting distracted, lol. I've tried 'self-hypnosis', its far easier to stay still, but i still can't stay still for long enough !

5triker, how long can you stay still for? What I usually do is imagine that liquid cement is being pored over me for the first 2 minutes or so that I lie in bed. After that, I just clear my mind and focus on my anchor. It works pretty well.

About 10 minutes. Yea, the 'self hypnosis' is similar; 1st exhale, toes feeling relaxed, 2nd exhale toes beginning to stiffen, 3nd exhale toes going numb, 4th exhale toes completely numb, 5th exhale toes completely relaxed and numb. I do this all up the body, then begin trying to clear my mind...

I just had a very odd LD this morning, ill not go into the details. The odd bit was that i was woken up from the LD by, what i thought was, a slamming door outside my dream. I thought this because it was so clear and loud but sounded far away, and it woke me up (there was no reason in my LD that a slamming door noise would happen) . However i later found out that none of my family were up at that time, and none of them heard a door slamming. Does anyone have an explanation for this?

Also, i woke up slowly when the door slammed, and i stayed still, keeping my eyes shut. However i soon realized that i couldn't move my body, it was completely numb. Can SP happen after a dream, and you wake up with it? I would have continued with 'SP' and tried to WILD however my alarm was about to go off and i had to go to college, DAM!!! .

Oh yeah, SP can definitely happen after a dream/when you wake up. In fact, that's how most people experience it and how I experienced it the majority of the time (besides WILDing, of course). And the slamming door, Id say that it had to from auditory hallucinations from the SP knowing that your family was not up and they didnt hear the door.

Thanks! It just sounded so real ! But I've heard that auditory hallucinations do sound like that.

So annoying that i had to get up though !!

Yeah can sound extremely real; in fact, I think I was awaken by SP this morning but Im not sure on whether or not it was my dad since he gets up pretty early and I didnt ask him.

But yeah, SP can get pretty intense; sometimes you have no choice but to wake up from of it.

With enough willpower, you could probably go into SP while awake, but it would be very difficult.

To get out of SP, you just have to try your hardest to move or let your body know that you're still awake in some way.

And I dont quite understand what you're asking in your second question, what do you mean by having SPs while fully awake?

I think he means just sitting down mid-day and going into SP. Maybe you're just sitting in front of the T.V. and feel like paralyzing yourself for some reason (Why, I don't know).

becouse your maybe relaxing your body in the same way you do when you go to sleep but your mind is still staying concentrated on what your watching so you dont go to sleep (maybe this would leed on to ld?)

This would be close to impossible to do with your eyes open, as light causes a reaction in your body to secrete a hormone that is meant to wake you from sleep/dreaming/SP. You could maybe try it in the dark, but why you would do that it don't know. And I'd say that there are many more reason why you can't SP like this ^^.

      Oh, right sorry...
      I misunderstood, lol .

To get to conscious SP (eg. for WILDing) you have to be 'awake' or conscious, with you eyes closed and your mind, thought-free. I thought you meant awake with you eyes open, just in the middle of something (eg. watching tv) lol !

Well, you will try to move until the signal between your brain and your body is restored. But riddle me this Blitzwing, why would would you want to go out of SP when you could WILD?!

yeah, thank you! those are the posts i was talking about. sounds like you can answer nearly every question on LD with one answer:

"Will it to happen and it will happen." ^^
