Question Best Way For Dream Recalling...

I've read on this site that you can use a Dictaphone for dream recall. I was wondering whether anyone uses this method, what they think of it and how best to use it?

Note; I'm too busy/lazy to write/type out all my non-lucid dreams. I thought this method would save time and thus make recall easier as you would be able to recall and record your dream as soon as it comes into your head. Also, i already type out all my lucid dreams; here, but not my non-lucid ones.

      Thanks for reading !

Personally, I just write down all of my dreams. If you don't have time to record your whole dreams, just write down a sentence or two or some keywords, and you should recall the rest of the dream from that. But if the Dictaphone works for you and you have good recall using it, by all means, use that!

Well I do it cause its fun to read over them in the future and see how you have progressed. Although I haven't been recording them for a month and a bit, but I'm defiantly getting back into it.

Its also good for looking at recurring themes or patterns in your dreams, which can lead to lucidity.

I think that writing dreams down is better in my opinion because it helps me remember them more when i read them later, and when i use a dictaphone and listen back to it all i hear is me half asleep jibbering on about some random things

I have a digital recorder on my nightstand, and it works great. It cost me maybe $25. It's really helped me with recall, as I don't even have to turn on the light at night...just reach over, hit a button and talk. I find that as I dictate, more and more of the dream becomes available to me, which is a plus. I then replay the evening's dreams while I type into my journal. Very quick and easy.

      Thanks !

This seems like a brilliant idea! Although the Dictaphones on amazon are around $50-$100. Sounds like a bit too much if you asked me .

In my case, I've got a "microphone" function on my mp3 player, and used it last night to record my dreams. Maybe you've got an mp3 with such an option, too, and don't know about it? BTW, I agree that recording your voice and writing it down only later is better than immediately writing it down in DJ. Saves time, is more confortable, helps to remember further details from the dream, doesn't make you too awake.
