It's always nice and refreshing to see an excited newbie. We offer a ton of resources to help you on your way. The Tutorial, Attaining Lucidity, and Dream Control sections are some to name a few.

Welcome! It's nice not to be the newbie anymore!
As for the Lucid dream kit, it may work, but You really don't need it. All you need is a journal and commitment!

I do have one more question, I was reading about keeping your mind awake and your body being in sleep paralysis the more i think about it the scarier the ideal seems. As anxious as i am there is still a bit of fear.

It's nothing to fear. It happens every night, even thought you're not aware of it. Some members love the experience. And it's different for everyone, so you might not even feel a difference.

But if you're still a little scared, look up the DEILD method in the Tutorials. It's like WILD, but it skips the SP altogether.

SP can be scary, so the only way getting around it is experiencing it. And to experience it, you have to practice it. Ask anyone, when it comes to WILDing, practice is the best technique to mastering it. If you have any questions about WILDing or anything else, then dont hesitate to ask.

      S.p.

I have had an experience involving sleep paralysis. I knew i was dreaming, but my eyes were open. i wasent confused or nothing.. in fact i was fully aware. the only abnormality was the dead female laying next to me. its because of her presence that i was in put in a state of paralysis. completely horrified, i was left to scream inside of what seemed to be a dream at least. i document mostly all of my interesting dreams. so im sure one day there will be a much more detailed explanation available. (lvthn)

I've been having SP for 4 weeks straight now. It is scary at first with all those creepy sounds, and you'll feel like something is there. I mean I didn't know what SP was and those three weeks of having SP and crazy dreams made me think there was some kind of demon haunting me! Then I just had it one night ya know, and started searching for help. Come across this site, and now I know what it is. ^^ I'm not scared of it anymore, its still there when I close my eyes, but I just sort of got used to it. I don't hear as many sounds, I still go through the whole process of electric feeling, etc. Just don't let it get to you.

funny you mention demons. i always keep my mind open. i definetly saw a dead female next to me. ive seen her again in another dream. and in others (3 actually) demonic entities have spoken out to me. like i said, most of my dreams are documented, so at any given time if someone wishes to hear them let me know. I have an open mind too. I do believe there are good/evil spirits out there. I do not believe that demons have talked to you because I've had that before in my dreams. I'd wake up and hear a song in another language. It was just my mind playing tricks, and it probably was doing the same to you at times. Just remember they're just dreams. Did you wake up and see a dead lady? Because I've had that too where I'd wake up and see a demon and freak out. Its just my mind playing tricks with me at the time.

Hey Poisonhead, you should post your dreams here on DVs in the Dream Journal section. That way. you wont have to tell them all individually, you can can just show them to everybody all at once and have people here help you out with a question you might have about your dreams.

yea that sounds about right. the only problem is that most of them are extremly explicit. i consider myself an avid writer, so to me i would feel obligated to explain in full depth. do you think i would encouter any problems becuase of this?

Yes, they sound very real. I get it every now and then. Like last night I was in SP, and as I was getting deeper in my sleep I heard voices. From different people that sounds so real. There were times where I'd wake up and a giant roar would blast in my face. Other times I'd look at a window and see a shadow running down the stairs. Turns out they're all tricks that my mind would play on me. The demon that I saw when I woke up was so real, the greatest detail you could ever see, was my imagination.

Eos: i feel as if i should divulge my opinion on what you stated. you said that its your mind playing tricks on you, and me. either which way, let me ask something.. is it not a regulation, a belittlement of one's mental capicity to put all abnormalities of the mind into the defintion of "playing tricks"? that is not the way i wish to explain what it is i go through.
no disrespect intented, jus thought i would share my side.

Na, I think you'll be alright. Besides, there's a lot of pretty explicit Dream Journals here already (), so you dont have to worry about yours being singled out or receiving any unfair criticism.

Oh, I'm sorry I read what your reply wrong. I was just comparing what you were saying about what you were seeing, etc. I didn't want to imply that it could of been that. Its just it sounds familiar to what I go through. Though, maybe it'll be different once I read your journal. :] Well lemme know when its up.

      Alright, sounds good.
Actually, I havent been posting mine up recently either. The main reason is b/c most of my LDs have been pretty disappointing (very short lived) , but I think I might start posting mine up again too. And some of mine can be pretty explicit, so that should take some of the pressure off of you so that you can post yours worry-free.

yea thats cool. im sure that would definetly help. ive found it to true for everyone mostly that lucid dreaming dosent always happen. there are times when i wish to induce such lucidity upon myself, and ive found that exerting my physical form to the extreme is one of the main keys. but regardless, any dream that i find to be intriguing is always reflected through a written manifestation. it never hurts to express that in which others cannot see. so let me know when you post something, and i'll do the same.
