      SP is my friend!!

      okay a bit of background..

i had experienced about 4 or 5 episodes of Sleep Paralysis (SP), only just recently, before i ever knew anything about Lucid Dreaming, and i even remember having an actual LD when i was younger

      {people new to terms)
      # LD'ing - lucid dreaming
      # WILD'ing - wake induced lucid dreaming
      # SP'ing - sleep paralyis (awake in your mind, whilst body is fully asleep)

anyways.. after hearing about lucid dreaming, i quickly made the link between LD and SP and saw some sort of similiarity, I then researched.
Now after knowing alot about LD'ing WILD'ing etc im not so scared about SP (these were always VERY disturbing and scary dreams of me getting hurt etc) not anymore.

Last nite was awesome! ive tried WILD'ing occasionally with average success.... last nite was different. i knew i was going to SP i was very tired and just had that fealing, i couldnt be bothered spending alot of time trying to WILD so i decided id just let my self drift off and then when i was nearly asleep i would focus on lucid dreaming. . . now i was lying on my side, drifting off so fast, i had forgotten i was trying to LD. then something happened. i heard myself thinking out loud random things... "Tree"... "Laptop"... "going"... "then"... "see"..... etc, my logical mind was shutting down..
and i thought.. "ahhh im falling asleep haha!"

thennn SHOOOOOM someone flicked a switch, and i was wide awake! being launched up into the sky... so fast! i flew hundreds of metres up.. through my ceiling and then stopped and hovered.. just suspended on my back arms and legs out... i just thought WHOOA! all i could hear was this intense whiirrring in my head.. just goin whhhhhoooomm whooooooom whoooom, my body had gone.. and i couldnt see anything..

i knew wat was happening tho and i decided to spin around, on my back i started to spin, i could feal the centrifugal forces, the droning just went with how fast i span, different forces pulled at me from different directions, i then started spinning and dropping and rising it was awesome.. clockwise anti-clockwise still i could only see darkness.. suddenly fealt a pair of hands grab me on my ankles.. they started spinning me round, so fast i fealt my head would fly off.. i was slightly uncomfortable but still enjoying just how intense and vivid this was. i stopped spinning around and was aware of my bed under me.. i fealt the hands slowly pull me off my bed i heard my body fall onto the ground, and i could actualy feal with my hands the carpet of my room.. i thought fuck ive fallen out of bed, hope i havnt smacked my mouth on the bed side table or something.. this made me decide i would get up, but i couldnt, i couldnt call out either, this worried me slightly and the sound in my head bagan to peak and it bacame more uncomfortable.. chill i told myself its all good. i could kinda see myself on the floor and my bed, and my feet. i tapped my feet on the bed and heard them.. haha this was cool i tryed to smile but wherever my face was, it wasnt moving. then quickly i woke up. lying on my side, just as id fallen asleep.

it took me a while to come to grips with what had happened, and eventualy i just fell into a normal dream. could anyone please give me some feedback as to what they think of my expereince, and maybe some tips on how i can conjure up more of a visual and complete lucid dream.

either way i thought it was the most amazing experience considering i was so terrorfied of SP before, and i cant wait to do it again.

      cheers for readin

I sounds like you had an OBE.

      Thats the right attitude.

Most are scared of SP, which is completely understandable, but learning to enjoy it can be the key to getting lucid.

Any tips on how to not be scared of SP's? not really sure why i am scared of it, but it sounds somehow creepy. Think i saw something similar on discovery or National geographic once about people waking upp not able to move and having illusions doing things to theme and unable to move or escape. Oh well

Yea it can be scary at first. But when you understand that you are the one making these illusions, you cannot be harmed and you can even change them into things you want, its great fun. I like it because i find it amazing to see what my brain comes up with.

      yewww LUCID

haha thanks for all the replies guys, im just posting up again to say i got lucid last nite !

i tried allowing myself to fall into SP again last nite, but decided to let it go as i could tell it was going to be intense and i just wanted a relaxed sleep.
i woke up at about 6 and recalled the dreams id had and decided id try and WILD.. i did this.. and woke up shortly later realising 'damn id fallin into a normal dream'.. i drifted off again.. and next thing im back asleep and all of a sudden i think heyyy. this is a dream haha and bang im lucid, i stopped and looked around at my strange surroundings, and proceeded to hover around it was sikkk.. i woke up tho coz i was to excited. when i went to sleep the third time same thing again, but now i was on a bike and i realised ahhh dream haha, yess! again i woke up pretty quick after hooning around on this bike.

first time ive been lucid since being a little kid

thanks for the positive input Dizko

and Chef, if you ever fall into sp you will deff know, all the scary sounds, fealings and associations will be there, and 100% real. but you need to believe and have the confidence that its only real in your mind, its not material. and you can learn to enjoy it

about my experience the other nite. i think your right, i wasnt aware of having any physical connection to anything.. not saying i fealt numb.. just that wherever my mind was there was no physical, i fealt like i was off in space and only the image of me having a body was there

      anyways everyone, keep dreaming
