Thread: Waking Up Once Lucid

Hey, does the community as a whole consider it to be a lucid dream when you wake up shortly after you realize you are dreaming (even if it's 2-3 seconds)?

I wasn't sure if these technically count as a lucid dream b/c they are so short.

Yes, those are lucid dreams, although short ones.

Here's what I did in my 1st lucid: When you realize that you are dreaming (for whatever reason), sit down (in the dream) and take a moment to relax and calm yourself down so that you won't wake up out of shock or excitement at the realization that you are dreaming.

I got excited my 1st time (for obvious reasons) and I almost woke up but I sat down and collected my thoughts and I proceeded to go nuts with flying and all that. It was fun.

If you can stay awake, you will be able to exercise dream control.

Yes, that's still a lucid dream. LDs come in many sizes... the example you give is just a size "1."
