      A cry for help..

      Hello all.
I'm quite new to Dream Views and stumbled upon it with respect. I've been very interested in meditation for the last year and since, seek to learn as much as i can about the dream world. As long as i've tried, I have never fully woken up in a dream. I'm just wondering if there are any known habits that you feel encourage, help, trigger more vivid dreaming.. like maybe reading? or how often someone meditates if it's used to practice. Maybe herbal inducers like teas or chinese herbs?

      thanks in advance

      Firstly, to Dream Views!

Umm for more vivid dreams try writing in a Dream Journal (it'll help you remember dreams more vividly), but in saying this your question can be comprehended in a few ways

For more vivid/longer dreams try using WBTBs and as REM periods(therefore dreams) get longer as you sleep you may get more dreams if you sleep for longer periods but I wouldn't recommend sleeping more than an hour or 2 extra,
      (whatever you feel comfortable with).

As for herbs/meditation I'm not sure whether or not they'll help, but if you really want answers try asking in the Lucid Aids sub forum.

      Good luck with finding answers!

There are things you can do to increase the chances of a LD. Here's a quick list:
      • take a multi B vitamin
      • keep a dream journal
      • do autosuggestion -- "I will realize I am dreaming" is a good manta
      • read up on LD techniques -- here is the tutorial section
      • practice reality checks (RCs)
      • learn to recognize your dream signs (DSs)

If this may help you... You're not alone, I've been interested in this subject for almost a year now, and have kept a dream journal for more than half a year, and still no lucids... There's no need to worry, though. It'll come when you least expect it. I'm sure it will. Just believe in yourself, don't give up. But... take it easy. Surely that's important as well.
And last but not least, listen to the guys above me, as experienced lucid dreamers, without doubt they know what they say. Actually, I'm still a 'noob' here.

well i dont know much about "chinese herbs", but if you're really really interested in lucid dreaming, devote as much waking time as possible (without interfering too much with the real world, of course) to dreaming. Do reality checks as much as you can, read Lucid Dreaming or Exploring the World Of Lucid Dreaming. I've just started trying to LD again lately and have been giving it as much thought as possible and my dreams have been getting more vivid and longer. so its nice.

There are lots of chemicals in the Lucid Aids forum, some are teas, some are B vitamins and such. Meditation does help a lot too though
