I'm new and I have a weird question

This is slightly NSFW, just as a warning.

Hi, I'm new, and I've had about 4 lucid dreams in my life, one happened while I was 6 and the rest just happened within the past few months. However, I'm not even sure if the recent ones are even lucid dreams. I think I might just be dreaming about lucid dreams, or I just never have that much lucidity at all. Here's a list of stuff that kind of makes me think this:

-I never think about real life in my lucid dreams, usually I just tell somebody in the dream, or just think for a second, "Hey I'm dreaming." Afterward I'm just focused on doing stuff in the dream. However, in the dreams I've remembered the technique of shutting your eyes and wishing for something, then having it there when you open your eyes, and spinning around to change the location.

-I don't have total control. I can wish for stuff (or things to happen) my shutting my eyes and wishing for it, but a lot of the time it doesn't work. In all of my recent dreams, I've tried to have sex with a random (sometimes unwilling, but hey, it's a dream so it's not like I'm really being cruel to people) female, but it never works. Something always goes wrong: IE when I try to make it so nobody else can see us, it doesn't work, or (this didn't happen every time) I try to make them actually want to have sex but they stilll don't, and I usually wake up before I can do anything else. I guess I could just be plain unlucky, but it's happened every single time.

-I start doing stupid stuff I wouldn't do if I had a lucid dream, for example, right now. Like if I'm stealing something, instead of wishing for no one to be able to see me, I wish for the people in the immediate area to not care that I'm stealing. Also, my second lucid dream ended because I was trying to have sex with a woman in the middle of a town square (I stupidly didn't bother to change the location into a bedroom, I just tried to make it that nobody could see us, which didn't work.) and she disappeared, so I wished for a broomstick so I could fly over town and try to find someone else, instead of just wishing her back. Of course, I crashed and woke up. Is this just because I don't have 100% lucidity?

What can I do to stop stuff like this? Also, if it helps, all of my lucid dreams have just happened as a normal dream, not induced by any techniques. Thank you.

      K. Just to let you know, control has nothing to do with lucidity. The things that make you totally lucid or only partailly aren't control but this...

Are you aware that you are dreaming?
Are you aware what the implications of the fact that you are dreaming are? (Do you just think, 'I'm Dremaing.' but not totally comprehend what that means.)
The ability to recall things from waking life. (Like the advanced task or dream goals or recall tips.)

There may be other things involved with lucidity but this is what I know of what lucidity means.

I had a dream two nights ago where I was fully lucid but had zero control. There are alot of dream guides on controlling dreams if you want. I would suggest keeping a detailed dream journal next to your bed. Also, try and make a dream goal in waking life and next time you go lucid see if you can recall that goal in dream. If you can, you should be fully lucid.

You'll get better at controll with more practice. And why do you want no one to see you? It's a dream. Do you wake up or something like that if no one can see you?

Well, if people see me they start reacting and yelling stuff like "Why is he doing it in public!?" and "What the hell?" You'd react if you were walking down the street and you saw two people doing it. They also try to pry us apart and punch me. It's annoying.

      Hey Zak, welcome to DV

Sounds like me that you are getting pretty good at LDing, but your only problem is the control aspect. Often times for me, control is a matter of confidence. Because I'm not 100% secure in the fact that it is MY dream, I second-guess myself and cause problems or worry about things and cause them to materialize or occur.

My recommendation is to work on your confidence, try stabilizing when you first become lucid and be aware that it is a dream. Maybe even just dedicate a couple of lucids to bossing dream characters around, until you feel more sure of yourself. Your characters will behave as you expect them to, so expect them to stand around cheering instead of prying and jeering and I think you'll be ok. The dream control section of the forums has a lot more info, http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=14 Let me know if there's anything else I can help you wish. Good luck!

That's what I thought, but in my dreams, no one cares what I do. I ate the light out of my TV and my dad kept on watching it. I try to crash into oncomming traffic, but they just go around me like it's normal. and stuff like that.

Maybe you should come up with a concrete goal you want to achieve next time you are lucid. Rehearse it during the day, using your imagination. Try to involve something that will increase your level of lucidity. For example, you can try to remember something from your waking life, or take a second to consider what it means to be in a dream.
