Very Interested... and on the Way. Seeking Guidance.

      Hi everyone!
I've recently learned about Lucid Dreams, and I'm eager to experience them. I've started to do what I've heard of as good habits, but I'd like some help. I'm a 17 year old university student, I'm an intellectual, and I have a really good memory. Below I'll outline my current training status:

I go to bed at about 1:00 each night. I wake up at around 11:00. When I go to sleep, I say to myself, "I will dream and I will remember each dream". The last few nights, I've found myself waking up after each dream, (After each REM cycle, I guess). Whenever I wake up, I immediately go to my dream journal and record what I dreamt. I've been looking for some consistency or some dreamsigns I could maybe use. I've been documenting my dreams for about 4 nights, and the quantity of dreams I remember and the detail is improving.

So, anything I should do differently? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to cross the threshold from passive dreaming to lucid. Cheers,
      -Jordan

You're on your way. Here's some tips that i hope help

-Do a least 10+ reality checks per day(check out the tutorial for good ones)
-Try different sleeping positions, mainly try sleeping on your back. I heard that awareness inreases if you do. To tell you the truth, i just had a LD this morning when i changed positions to sleep on my back
-See the WBTB method tutorial thing to. You sleep a lot it seems and the WBTB is really good for those who have time.

      good luck

Hey jay... sorry for the late reply - tough week :/

Another tip I can suggest for recall, although you seem to be doing ok , is to *not* jump up immediately to your dream journal
Instead, lie in the same position you woke up in, and try to go over your dream. In full visuals, etc etc. Putting the pieces back together first.
Sometimes its just a feeling, and you have to work on what caused the feeling.

Lying in the same position seems to greatly improve things
Do this for a couple of minutes, until you have most of it played back in your mind. THEN write it all down (some more details might emerge)

      Wow, thanks!

Those are some really helpful responses, especially the dream recall ones. I had no idea that is was more beneficial for recall to lay there still for a few minutes first, replaying what had been dreampt. Thanks a bunch.
      Cheers!
