Hey Manin207 what techniques are you using? I've practically given up kinda on LD, I can't enter sleep paralysis, and my recall isn't as good as it used to be.

Are you keeping a journal and writing in it everyday?

Well really I have no techniques, I go to bed, (but I don't go to bed until I am exhausted!) and then I watch tv, until my eyes can no longer stay open, I shut the tv off, and some nights I awake into SP. Then I WILD from there. Sorry, if this does not help you. I have been having mind awake SP for quite a few years now.

I had a random DILD about 2 1/2 weeks ago and found this site the next day. I have been working on LDing, and have had 4 lucids since. Only problem is the lucids have lasted from 2-7 seconds. Whenever I have tried to WILD I have not reached SP, but I have actually awakened in SP 4 times total (3 in the last two nights). I've been working on turning those SP awakenings into lucid dreams, but I only feel about 2 or 3 waves of SP before I come out of the SP breathing pretty rapidly. I guess SP is still a pretty shocking/scary experience for me. Any tips on getting used to it so its not so shocking?

Actually, I can really relate to that. When I first starting having SP, (that I was awake during) I was scared out of my mind, I even resorted going to a M.D., because I have never experienced this before, and it was happening quite frequently. Four years went bye, and I was watching ghost hunters (lol), and they mentioned SP. I thought to myself "man that sounds a lot like what I have!" So I did a little research, and came across these message boards. I read about it, and realized that there is nothing to worry about, and that it is completely normal, and every one has them every night! Just a lot of people's minds are a sleep as well as their bodies, because really that is all that is going on during SP. You brain puts your body to sleep so it does not injure itself while dreaming. ((at least that is my thought about it, I am not a MD, So please do not quote me lol)). Any way when I wake, and I am in SP, I just tell myself, that it is normal, and to just lay still, and wait for the action....I actually get excited now, when I go into SP! No really if you just lay there, and wait a few mins. after SP begins, think to yourself "roll over" do not physically try to roll over, but just think it. That is what I did the first time, a couple of weeks ago! When I did this, It felt as if I rolled 50 times lol, but that was after I tried physically, and nothing happened so I told my self just to will it to happen, then I rolled down the biggest hill you could imagine! lol. You will basically get better at this, through trial, and error! If you need any other tips, (not like I am a pro, cause I am not at all, and I just started LD-ING last week!) just give me a P.M. Hope this helps a little! ~J

MANIN207, thanks for the information it does help. I'll try telling myself its normal next time. Quick question though. When you say to wait a few minutes once SP begins, are you saying that you are having the vibrations the whole time during those few minutes? Also, do you hear a ringing/screeching noise when you are in SP? Just curious b/c it was really a really loud noise during my first few seconds of SP, but the last few times haven't been is as loud but I still notice a ringing.

Yes the whole time! The vibrations, used to be so intense that it almost hurt lol, but you just have to lay there, and trick your brain into thinking your whole mind, and body is asleep. Weird right? As for the loud ringing, I wrote that in one of my other post, that it has only happened to me once. Just a few weeks back, it was SO loud. It sounded like one of those banchies! That to is also a common occurrence ! No worries my friend. You are not a lol
