New to this forum, somewhat experienced in lucid dreaming...

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum, but fairly experienced in lucid dreaming. I have narcolepsy, so I think that's why it has come easier for me than most people. It's not as easy to do since I've been on meds, but unfortunately I can't function in the real world without them. Back in high school I used to LD almost every time I took a nap. Those dreams involved a lot of torturing and killing people, which I've never been proud of, but I was very unhappy with my life at the time. Since then, my LD's have become much less violent. I still don't have control over much of my environment, though I can chose how I will react and flying is a fairly common thing for me.

Anyhow, even though I've been doing this for 12 years or so, I've never really read much on the topic, so I was glad to find this forum. I'm surprised to learn that everyone's dreams seem to have similar aspects, and that certain techniques can help you control things better. That's something I never would have guessed. I tried one just recently, actually. I always have dreams of giant tsunami waves, hundreds of feet tall, coming toward me. I had read here that ignoring something would make it go away, and it worked! No more tsunami! Amazing..

Anyhow, I'm hoping to keep a consistent dream journal here, though I've never been able to in the past (I remember my dreams well but I'm not very disciplined). Maybe having it online will help...

Sounds like your subconscious is really talking to you. That's a real opportunity for growth and healing. We all need that.

It also sounds like you have a natural talent for this. I bet you become an expert.

      Good luck!!
