It's not as easy to do since I've been on meds, but unfortunately I can't function in the real world without them. Back in high school I used to LD almost every time I took a nap. Those dreams involved a lot of torturing and killing people, which I've never been proud of, but I was very unhappy with my life at the time. Since then, my LD's have become much less violent. I still don't have control over much of my environment, though I can chose how I will react and flying is a fairly common thing for me.
Anyhow, even though I've been doing this for 12 years or so, I've never really read much on the topic, so I was glad to find this forum. I'm surprised to learn that everyone's dreams seem to have similar aspects, and that certain techniques can help you control things better. That's something I never would have guessed. I tried one just recently, actually. I always have dreams of giant tsunami waves, hundreds of feet tall, coming toward me. I had read here that ignoring something would make it go away, and it worked! No more tsunami! Amazing..
Anyhow, I'm hoping to keep a consistent dream journal here, though I've never been able to in the past (I remember my dreams well but I'm not very disciplined). Maybe having it online will help...
