Since I'm here, I might as well introduce myself

Hey there! 'Tis Smarties here. I've been lurking around here for a couple of weeks now and decided to join while I'm at it. I discovered lucid dreaming a year or two back during a period of my life during which I had lucid dreams quite frequently and became interested in the subject, but I couldn't really be bothered starting a dream journal so I abandoned the thought of learning to have a lucid dream. However, when stumbling across a topic about dreams on another forum, I became interested in lucid dreaming again and discovered this website. Since starting my dream journal, I've had 3 lucid dreams, but in one of them, I had absolutely no control over myself or my environment and the two others ended before I could even attempt to stabilize my dream.

I want to learn to lucid dream simply because it has go to be the most amazing thing I've ever experienced during my life and I want more. =P Even a split second of lucidity is enough to keep me in a good mood for the rest of the day. I also want to have a chat with my subconscious and visit a number of worlds from various books, video games and the like as well as re-visit some old dreams of mine, including nightmares since one nightmare in particular remains as vivid as ever in my mind and I want to show it who's boss.

As for non dream-related facts about me: I'm a 15-year old Finnish student and I'm in 9th grade. My first and second language are Finnish and Swedish respectively (I was born into a Finnish family, but my education has been in Swedish), but I speak English just as well as the other two languages and my English is mostly self-taught as I've always practically been a year or two ahead of class in English. I can also speak a bit of French and German. After 9th grade, I'm hoping to get into an IB school. In the future, I want to study English since I'm currently seriously considering becoming and English teacher once I've completed my education. Psychology is also something I want to study in the future.

I play the piano and I just started jujitsu this year. Other interests of mine include reading and video games. (specifically The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts and competitive Pokémon although naturally there are other games I like as well.)

And now I will disappear into the shadows and lurk some more.

I really like being lucid too! It makes my day. There's (most likely) no limits! And congrats on your first lucids! You should get more in no time.

      You're making me jealous.

Really hope I can make the transition, just being able to remember (fun) dreams can put me in a good mood all day. The idea of a lucid dream just delights me.
