Spinning is a concept that Dr. LaBerge came up with that will help you to stay in a dream. *It is spinning your dream body. *Because when you are dreaming it's like you have two realities. *Dream world Reality, and Real World Reality. *If you spin in the dream world, it is harder for your body to wake up, because of the contrast of your non moving, sleeping body. *your mind has to decide if your body is moving (spinning) or not (lying asleep). *The dream spinning gives you all the sensations of spinning. *Inother words you feel like your are spinning, so your mind would have to fight that sensation of spinning to get you to wake up. *This can also cause a dream scene change, even to the point of you lying in bed awake. *If this happens do a reality check. *Chances are, you are still dreaming. *another theory besides spinning is simply rubbing your hands together (your dream hands). *This normally does not cause a scene change, but does give the same contrast to your brain that will keep you asleep. *I have had success with both methods of staying in dreams for perhaps a minute or two longer. *
Hope this helps.
Very well said.
Spinning is often a good technique to change the dream seen as LucidDreamz said. But one way to use this to your advantage is to picture a desirable dream scenario, close your eyes, and start spinning. You then could wake up in that scene.
If your dream begins to fade begin to spin.
