I've been lucid dreaming my whole life...

      Hiya,

my boyfriend just found this site on stumbleupon, and showed me it, because he knows about my LDs.

So, I've been lucid dreaming my whole life... I always thought it was kinda normal until I told someone about it last year and they flipped out cause they had been trying to ld for years lol.

i've been skimming around this site and message board, and i just wanted to
      ask a few questions;

1.) What do all the abbreviations mean? I've seen dc, nd? wild, etc...

2.) is it really that hard to fly in dreams? I do that in practically ever ld i have ha.

3.) one of my last lucid dreams was kinda weird and i just wanted to share it with you and see if you have any idea what was going on...

In the dream, I was sitting in bed with my boyfriend, (he had just got up for work and left in waking life so i suppose that was my dream sign?) and i was trying to tell him i was dreaming, but it seemed like i had a really hard time saying the word "dream".

it was like, "oh, you're not really matt, because im just having a d-d-d-d-dr-dr-dr-e-e-e-e-e-...dr-dr-e-e-e-ea-ea-... dream!"

so than i proceeded to show Dream Matt that it was a dream by opening the window and making patterns outta the stars and making them brighter and different colors, and making galaxies and nebulas visible and making ufos fly by our window, which was neat but Matt was scared. Than i held onto him and we flew out the window over the city and i was explaining to him how he just left for work and he was like "really? weird." and poking at his body.

but anyways, what is with not being able to say dream? anyone have any ideas?

oh, and i also wanted to know; i lucid dream, but not all the time.. maybe once or twice a month. is there any way to train myself to ld more often or should i just do the whole, keep a dream journal thing?

      thanks so much in advance!

Hiya! Welcome to DV Cool to hear that you're a natural!

First off, http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=2954 is the list for all the weird acronyms and etc. that we use, so check that out and a lot of the posts will make more sense

Some people do have trouble with flying. For me, dream control is mostly about confidence. When I am very lucid and aware that it's a dream, I could do nearly anything. When I just barely know, but I'm still pretty irrational, I tend to have crappy dream control because I just don't trust that I can do things. People who can't fly should work on building their confidence and stabilizing dreams, but it certainly sounds like you don't have trouble with this!

Dunno about not being able to say "dream", I've said it quite a bit in my lucids (for example, "OMFG I'M IN A LUCID DREAM! YOU'RE NOT REAL!" ) Sounds like a very awesome lucid though, controlling the stars like that! I really like playing around with the weather, but I'll have to try the heavens at some point...

Lucid dreaming, as most of us here strive to do without natural talents, can absolutely be learned. Check out the tutorials http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=25 (database and archive) and see which sorts you think will work best or sound best for you. Being a natural you probably have some methods that already get you lucid, and I'm sure some of the tutorials can be geared toward your own personal experiences and preferences to help you get them more often.

Hope that was helpful, and let me know if you've got any other questions I can answer! Welcome again!

Hi Re' Welcome to Dreamviews. I was in the same boat when I joined here; would have Lucid Dreams a few times a month and thought it what was everyone did. Shift did an awesome job covering everything, haha so I just wanted to let you know that if you ever need any help around the forum or have any questions, feel free to PM me. Good Luck. Just keep a Dream Journal and do Reality Checks, and you should have more LDs in no time.

I had a situation very similar to that: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...5&postcount=14

I didn't think anything special of it when it happened, but you are the 2nd person that I've heard have the same experience.
