      It has been a while...

I have not experienced a Lucid dream for quite some time now. In fact, the last Lucid dream that I can clearly remember was before i graduated middle school. I remember it very well though, and i have been trying to recreate that experience ever since. Almost 13 years later and I still have achieved nothing on my goal to control my dreaming habits.
I have read all of the techniques that this site has provided including many of the topics that you members have been posting around this forum. I guess what i am wondering, is if you have any suggestions that have helped you personally to achieve a state of lucid dreams that you would be willing to pass on to me.

I take breaks honestly. I get obsessed with it, and have tons of Lucid Dreams. Then it will dry up so I take a break until I really miss it again. At that point I begin all again, and I love it.

But what are your techniques to lucid dreaming? How can you manage to do it so much? And how did you start learning it?

Well, I usually constantly do reality checks and try ti picture myself being lucid in my dreams, then when I fall asleep, alot of the time, thats all I personally need. Its sort of what I've always done. I do try the other techniques every so often to refresh myself, but positive and constant reinforcement works best for me.

I have my most successful lucid periods when I attack it from multiple angles.

First, I try to keep aware of my surroundings all day, constantly questioning my awareness and state of consciousness.

Then, when I go to sleep at night, I give myself some strong and bossy autosuggestions. I wake after every dream and write it down.

After my second REM cycle, I will stay awake for 30 minutes reading about dreaming. I then return to bed and either MILD or WILD or GM-WILD depending on what day it is. I don't like to WILD on nights when I have a stressful day coming up.

It sounds like a lot of work, but it really doesn't take that much time. The hardest part is remembering to remember to do it. Of course, that is an important part of the whole thing. Training your prospective memory.
