      What's it like?

I'm a LD virgin! As far as I can tell, I've NEVER experienced a dream where I'm totally aware that I'm dreaming. No matter how strange it is, I always feel it's reality while in the dream. I accept the stupidest things as reality. I want to Lucid dream, and want to know what it feels like.

-Are you conscious of your real surroundings?
-Are you in complete control of the dream?
      -Is it like day dreaming?
      -Does it feel like reality?

Yes, you are conscious of your surroundings, it's the same as reality but with the knoledge that it is just a dream.

At first some people are not in complete control because you need practice, but as you become better at lucid dream you can control everything your imagination is the limit.

No, daydreaming it's nothing compared to Lucid Dreams, you actually feel everything, the temperature of the air, the smell, all the noises, etc.

      It feel like reality.
In fact you could be dreaming right now...
      So do a reality check

      I just wanna dream!

      Well...uh..not really

To add on javier__cantu's post, lucid dreaming is not really realistic.

The first lucid dream that I had felt real, but only because my mind made it so...if you get what I mean.

Okay, so if you're aware of your surroundings (i.e. you know you're lying down in your bed) how is it that you do not simply open your eyes and wake up? Or are you aware of your surroundings in the same way The Matrix characters knew they were not in reality?

The sky isn't even the limit. The boundaries of your own imaignation are the only limit.
It is truely divine, exciting and very refreshing to realise the enviroment is yours.
I've never gotten to dramatically changing the scenery as I have found it quite demaning only to explore my dreamenviroment, but this alone has been lifechanging.

it's so exciting to study the landscape and people around you and realise it is all a Dream. The freedom you feel is unexplainable.
Oh and: Lucid Dreams can be VERY realistic. I've had those that were more convincingly real than waking life. Everything was so highly detailed. The clouds in the sky, the reflection of this sky in puddles of rainwater, my block and it's bushes, the houses, windows, cold morning air, grass, the sunlight...so detailed, so convincingly real.

Even had a brief Lucid once which was SOOOO freakishly realistic that i kinda paniced and "reasoned" myself back into thinking I must have been awake and fooled into thinking I was dreaming(while in fact I was) because it just seemed "too damned realistic". Just couldn't believe a dream could be THAT realistic.

I'd say it's more like this. Everything feels real, but you know that you aren't actually there.

Also, I'd even go as far as to say that it's even more vivid than real life. I feel wide awake in lucid dreams, even though I'm always tired in real life.

But yeah, the whole point of reality checks is because dreams feel just like real life, so you can't tell them immediately apart.

Has anyone ever been scared to do things at first because... Well, I don't know why, but, like, they had a false awakening, and just sat there in the dark, sure that it was a dream, but they were, like, scared to get up. Idk, thats what I would do though lol I have problems.

They are even more realistic then real life can be at time. In My best LDs, I feel connected to everything. I become aware of how the whole universe is really myself. I AM smells, sounds, light, wind... I am all that there is. That feeling is amazing. It is like being god.
