      Please Help

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but please give feedback.

Last night I was sleeping and I was woke up with my covers getting pulled off me slowly as if somebody was there doing it. This happened at least 4 times within the night, and I basically couldn't get to sleep because it was quite eerie but I'm atheist, and a skeptic so I was trying to think rationally , but this was too weird. This happened to me a couple of years ago as well one night but never experienced it again until last night.

I must say, I did have four bottles of energy drinks between about 6pm and 12pm, and went to my bed at 2am so could that have caused this? Can somebody explain this to me rationally, was this some sort of sleep deprivation or what?

      Thanks.

Well, it certainly doesn't sound like an average night! I would probably just start screaming if that happened to me haha

Was the blanket actually moved, or did it just feel like it was moving? When you sat up, was it physically being pulled toward the end of the bed? It may have just been a hallucination, like the ones you get during sleep paralysis.

I'm curious though, have you read about reality checking and false awakenings? Otherwise I would pin this on a false awakening, or a dream in which you think you've awoken and the environment seems like your place of sleep but it's really just a dream; though there may be other possibilities that one sounds the most logical and easily explainable to go by. Are you 100% sure that you weren't just dreaming?

If not, I'd say maybe you have an evil sibling who was messing with you? Or if you do want to explore the other 'paranormal' options, if you'd like I can move this post to the Beyond Dreaming section (http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=19)

      Thats freaky

It is more common than you might think to have these kinds of hallucinations. Like Shift said, I'm assuming it was just some hypnagogia. Have you had a chance to read about hypnagogia, sleep paralysis, or false awakenings? You may find some of the commonly reported experiences to be very similar to yours.

And I believe the energy drinks could definitely have something to do with it. I bet those energy drinks were loaded with B-vitamins and caffeine. B-vitamins are commonly used to encourage more vivid dreams, and caffeine can definitely make you sleep more lightly.

Like they said above, it sounds like hypnagogia. Lay off the energy drinks and see if it still happens

Or lay ON the energy drinks, and turn it into some mind-blowing lucid dreams, right?
